The Customs' Import fees go above 24% around here. I just might have to move to U.S. just because of this :wink1:

24%, so I guess Finland or did you mean the actual toll fee and not sales tax?

I tried to put it in perspective here a couple of months back when I got my C-3PO for $404 including tax and shipping (AmiAmi). But you got me beat by a big margin. It is a great figure though, that always helps against the buyers remorse. :)

I'm waiting for my C-3PO, it'll arrive by tomorrow afternoon, I hope.

Would you believe this: I paid over $ 520 for it. Yeah, tell me about it, I already know! After all the shipping fees and import taxes... It's just... Sick. Now, there's a comparison price for you guys :horror

I made a really bad call when I decided to buy this figure from the SideShow Collectibles. But I just had to have him and made a FlexPay plan immediately. So I really do hope mine's in pristine condition - for me being probably the last one to receive the damn thing... :impatient:

I already have a big pile of those gels waiting, by the way, if someone's interested. Basically, I ordered a full sample case of those gels from the manufacturer. They're quite tiny sheets and I don't know yet how many right-color ones there are (maybe just one, or a couple) and how many pieces I'm able to cut out from those.

Any ideas for a 1:6 scale Tantive IV corridor? I'd love to buy or build one for this figure, would look awesome in my showcase. I couldn't find but one for the Kenner figures.

Still no Chogokin R2-D2!?! :r2d2line

And please accept my apologies for my bad English, it ain't easy after so many years of not speaking the language... :gah:

Welcome to the forum! I'd be interested in the gels, if you find any that work.

Exactly :rotfl

There's nothing to it, it's quite simple, so I vote for "yes". They are pretty bad without the gels... I believe it was member PJB-1138 who tried out many of those gels and found out that Roscolux #321 (Soft Golden Amber) was one of the better ones to apply. I know it's the first thing I do when the 3PO gets here.

I just looked through the booklet on my desk! It took a minute to find, but there is was...#321. So happy I work in an industry where we have these things just laying around. Are you guys just adding one layer over the lights?

I'm pretty sure they are using two layers, but I hope one of them will chime in to confirm.

With the #321 im not sure but i dont think they used more then one. I could be wrong though.

Why would they use blue eyes in the first place? To be honest, I don't mind the blue (plus I'm too scared to make the mods).

The mod is super easy.

Come Christmas, I am going to swap out the amber for one green and one red. I also plan to get 3PO a Christmas hat. :yess:

Great question... and supposedly this project is headed up by Japan's ultimate wizard geekish fanboy expert professional Star Wars guy-dude.

Blue eyes? Are you guys still talking about Han Solo's coat on Hoth? ;)

Seriously, what blue eyes? Tama/Bandai/SSC's 3PO doesn't come with blue eyes in any images that have been posted here or that I've seen elsewhere. Besides, even if the eyes were made blue, it would only be as inaccurate as the rest of the figure. ;)

Does anyone know if Amazon offers a partial refund on items that were different than described? I ordered a new C-3PO and definitely got one that had been opened and displayed before, couple small blemishes and his arm is loose. Im ok woth what i recieved and will keep it but really would like to know why i paid for a NEW item and got a probably returned item... Condition is probably B - B+.

Contact their customer service (pick live chat) and explain it. I'm sure they will offer you either a partial refund or exchange it to a new one free of charge.

When you say 'small blemishes' - like what exactly?

How much did you get it for mate?

There are a few spots where its bumpy, nothing that makes me hate it. And there is a rub mark that i cant get rid of right in the center of his crotch piece. I knew it wasn't new when it wasn't wrapped in cellophane. Plus the instruction booklet bag was all wadded up and crushed and retaped.

I suppose i could just live chat and ask. I paid $360 shipped from Amazon, not a private seller.

They offered me three options

1. Full refund and return the item
2. Partial refund of $35.00 and keep the item
3. One day shipping of a new replacement. After the new one arrives i can print the return label for free and ship the used item back to them on their dime.

Stand up company if i do say so myself.

Ill have a new replacement on Friday, and i have until September 7th to return the original. Perfect since now that i have one i don't want to be without it. This way i wont have to.

Yeah, I'd be disappointed too.. hope you can get it resolved. :)

I actually paid $360 for mine - new, back in March via Hobbylink Japan.

:lecture This.

Fantastic option, first I've heard of that kind of CS. The replacement may very well have its own issues, in which case you could negotiate with the seller to switch out parts from each to make a mint figure.

That's probably what the last guy who owned that figure did. ;)

^ That's kinda what I mean.

Until he has the replacement figure in his hands - & he's happy.. it ain't resolved yet.

The next one could be a repack too..

Yes i will definitely be creating a "perfect model" with the two i have before shipping the original back. Ala Lejuan!

In all of the commotion, i still had time to tinker with the eye mod... I finally got the color i am happy with.
