Sounds like you got a great deal. Here I am thinking I got a great deal for my less than perfect Threepio and now brand new ones are selling for a little over $200 left and right. :lol

It's not outrageously cheap, before they ran out of stock AmiAmi sold if for USD204 shipped, and Popcultcha has it for USD235 +shipping on ebay, so going by that it should be okay.

Amazon should be almost guaranteed to reimburse you if anything is wrong, they're very good that way.

It seems that Popcultcha is pretty good at avoiding customs fees and stuff for us Europeans BTW, just a little tip.

Good to know. I don't need to feel like I got a better deal than others. Hell, I would have eventually bought it for $300. I just hadn't seen it for cheaper than that unless it was used in an amazon wharehouse deal. I got excited at the price so close to $200 and jumped on it. Anyway, just got an email back from the store that they will ship EMS, since $44 of the price was shipping, so hopefully I'll have it very soon!

I'm sorry I didn't mean that you didn't make a good deal, if you manage to avoid customs and stuff which I believe is less of an issue in the US than for us Europeans you will have me beat by about a hundred dollars. :)

I actually meant to reinforce you in that the price was in the ballpark of what the figure can possibly be had for so most likely not a broken/used one or a scam. I guess I worded it bad.

Oh no, not at all! I took it that way and it makes me feel safer about he purchase :)

Well. Too good to be true. Annoying... I got an email from the store saying after I purchased they would refund me a little discount for the high shipping cost. I responded that I already bought it. I then got an email saying it was out of stock and for me to request a cancellation. :(

Does this guy have any noteworthy QC issues? I haven't been keeping up but I just went skimming thru the thread and it seems that he's getting universal praise. Didn't see any complaints but just double checking

:( Bummer. I'm sure it won't be the last opportunity you get though, plenty of places will be marking this down at various points.

Look out for blistering, rubs and glue residue. Also look out for broken torso wires. There's no knowing whether you'll end up with a 100% perfect figure, but it seems the majority of people were happy with the set first time round.

Well, I either just got a great deal or got screwed.

Saw a new C-3PO listed on amazon for $215 shipped from Zstore Tokyo. Their feedback is mostly all positive, like 97% I think, so I bought it. I think they will ship EMS. The main thing that concerns me, other than the abnormally low price, is that their description said "guaranteed authentic!". Usually a bad sign, but I figure it's amazon and I can get my money back if they **** me over. Still... Hope I don't have to go through the hassle...

Awesome deal J, I got one of them when it was @ $210. I got an email a couple of days later saying my order got cancelled. That it was a mistake, it was supposed to be Euros. I was so disappointed i caved and bought it at $316 lol. Now I finally found a DX Luke EX and will look for yoda and a storm trooper. Hope you get it and enjoy it.

Dang. Just saw this. Looks like it happened to you too. You should email them back and tell them that's bad business for amazon and that you're not happy and report it to amazon.

Well I asked the guy if he is getting anymore an he said he thinks so and when/if he does, he will email me and give me first dibs. So there's that. He's been brief in his contact, but most asian dealers are, and overall he's been pleasant enough. We'll see what happens.

Yea keep on the hunt. I can't wait to display mine with Luke. Now the the other issue is finding a good r2d2.

It seems like a good number of people were able to snag this for a considerable amount under retail; some folks saying they got their's in the $200-$250 range is a flat out steal. I wonder why a figure that seems to be considered the definitive 3po of past, present and future is going for such deals :dunno. It's usually complete dud figs like Angelica, Goblin, Bruce Lee in suit, etc, that get the hack & slash sales treatment

I think the MSRP was inflated by a good 25% in a lot of places to begin with. In the US it was $400, but most places in SE Asia it was more like $300 and under. So $250 or less is a great deal, but less so from a MSRP of $300 than $400.

And it's still a high price point, so it attracts the fussier figure collectors who will demand an exchange for relatively minor surface blemishes. I'd guess a fair number of the heavily discounted figures are returned sets.

There were a few of us that had problems with the pistons being broken out of the box. I remember someone had to glue theirs back. Mine has a loose piston that pops out sometimes when I pose it but I can put it back and it will sit there until I start messing with it again so, not awesome but I can live with it fine.

Hmmm. I hope I get I good one :panic:. I just won an eBay actuion a couple of days ago for $270 shipped.

Ah... so the U.S. got rapped on the MSRP. That makes sense now. Basically everyone on The Bay is going for under US MSRP.

I was hesitant at first because of the price tag. I only bought the V1 Medi one a little more than a year ago and wasn't sure if i need to pay X2 of that cost for a die cast one. The Bandai now sounds like it's the one and only so I figured I'd do it if I caught a good deal. Luckily I did but now I'm worried about the condition. The seller said that the surface is perfect to his eyes and everything is factory fresh; only opened for inspection and never displayed. I guess I'll see so enough...
