so are you guys saying because temashi is going on there own we will never get R2 as well? If sideshow will announce he and their own 3PO will be made by them i can be patient and wait it's better than buying medicom

Unless it's already available for pre-order, it's not going to be available "in the near future" - that's pretty standard for Sideshow. If it's not previewed, it's something that may be 2 or more years off, if it ever comes.

totally off topic but i think it's awesome your using archer's image as an avatar

I may break down and try to buy this C3P0 from temachi, i don't want to but I'm afraid a medicom 3PO will break on me like it did for some of the members here. plus he is kinda short

About the Threepio, I promise you wont be disappointed. And you can get him below retail. There has been some great deals around here.

Yep, agreed with Fiend, just bide your time and look out for a good deal on Tamashii 3PO. As for R2, no-one's saying it won't be made, but it will be a long while before we have one in hand. And definitely skip the Medicom 3PO/R2. 3PO looks terrible next to the Tamashii -- especially the new one with sound, since Medicom cut holes very noticeably in his mid-section to accommodate it.

Yes, thirded! Once you have that Tamashii in hand, you'll think LFL sent you a museum grade maquette from their own vault! Imo, it's THAT good! Now you may find that some are saying slight details are missing, I don't personally know which, but if you go to Bandai's site and review the brief, you'll find out that there were a few different 3PO suits constructed for the movie and other marketing and TV appearances. This version, according to them, is the most accurate from EPIV. Ignorance in this case is bliss to me cause this thing friggin rocks! Alls I can say is, don't knock it till you've tried it! :peace

Medicom made a new C-3PO?

The latest from Medicom C-3PO is the talking version. The external is still look the same. I bought the first released when it came out.

And contemplating if I'm going to get the Ban Dai version.
But every time I look at it, I keep hesitating.
1) At first glance, the size of the piston on the arms are just too big.
2) At the back, at first glance the size of the butt is too short.

There is a difference between Medicom and Ban Dai.
What bothers me I can see right away the Ban Dai fault.
As for the Medicom. You have to look closely.

Just MHO.

Pretty sure that's a no. There are multiple R2 clocks and I don't believe that's the Taito version.

Thanks guys, if anyone knows where I can pick up a proper Taito Alarm clock please PM me or post it in this thread.

My 2¢: When and big IF Sideshow comes out with their own Threepio, there will assuredly be SOMETHING off with it. They may fix whatever people don't like about the Tamashii Threepio, but I can pretty much guarantee that there will be other problems and inaccuracies. It may be subtle and unnoticeable to most people out there, but it will definitely be a deal breaker to some.

If Sideshow does decide to come out with their own Threepio, it won't be for several years. The Tamashii version IS the Sideshow version. It took Sideshow 3-4 years or so to revisit Vader, so I would guess it would be around the same amount of time before we see another Threepio.

As far as R2 is concerned, I would also wager it will be another couple of years. Now that the Tamashii/Sideshow partnership has eroded, Sideshow probably has to start from square one with R2. Maybe Sideshow is also doing the "wait and see" dance with Tamashii and seeing if Tamashii will indeed secure the distribution rights on their own and won't do anything til that's settled.

BTW, I don't think R2's dome would have been released in its shiny state. They would have given it the accurate matte look. The Threepio prototype had a weird dull finish too, if you remember correctly, and the final product is what you see today.

Agreed 100%! :rock

Your right I remember he was a dull grey silver look to him, I think if Temashi did do him it would be all wrong to glitsy. I'll have to just have to wait on R2 Right now Sideshow might be my only hope I'm kinda ok with my kenner one with the arms it's just a shy over 6.5 until sideshow musters the courage to make him.

Tamashii would almost certainly have corrected the shiny dome, along with the scale. We'll never know I guess, but my money would've been on them to get it right.
