wo ho!
There is a reissue up for preorder on anime-export.com
12 PM C-3PO
Releasing this month. About $225 + shipping (According to their shipping calculator, somewhere between $45-$50).
(Gives me hope that they may revisit R2)
There's almost no hope they'll revisit R2 unfortunately. If this is a genuine reissue and not just backordered stock then busting out a few more figures from existing molds and tooling is no biggie. Properly developing a whole new figure from a prototype is a different thing altogether. Not to mention the rumoured insurmountable difficulties Tamashii will have securing a license. It's well past time to change the thread title.
Wow, that's unexpected but it's a great opportunity for those that missed out on the first run. I don't think even HT could surpass it (equal it, maybe) and it blows away SSC's version by a country mile. There is a reissue up for preorder on anime-export.com

Indeed, that would've been really disappointing. Thankfully I suspect HT will be releasing an 'Ep VII' R2, so that should remedy the situation.
What if EP7 R2 has wings? And farings and racing stripes?
It'd prefer that to rockets. Rockets that ceased functioning as he aged and couldn't be used on Dagobah or Endor.
