This is an easy buy. Don't mind if it's 800 to 900. Especially since there were folks willing to spend that much on ebay for Batpod V1 before the rerelease came along.

Oh crap, does HT read these forums? Err... uhh, yeah... $600 would be perfect<cough>, yeah, that's it...

I'm surprised that they even spin in general. But yeah, the back blade need to spin a little faster to make it look good.

Either way, I want this thing meow!

You guys probably saw this video in another thread, but it shows the blades spinning a bit faster at 2:42.

thanks for the reply now i got to think should i really get this almost 54 inches and 24inches wide

No worries, and unless they make a stand that is smaller than the Bat itself this thing will need a proper separate table.

This is a stop motion, not a video, so what you see there is pictures changing quickly, not actual rotation due to the motor

I can´t watch it thx to a dumb *** corp over here in germany who keeps violating youtube, when music is not prpoerly presented or free!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I figured that they don't read this forum either, most likely because they don't give a ____ what people say here. But I also imagined that if I ever stood in their offices and gauged reactions to them reading alot of the posts here - I'd learn alot of Chinese curse words that day.
<cue the angry "yes they do read these forums, I'm super-important and my scathing criticisms of their hard work affects the final outcome" replies>

Yes, the Bat flying forward through the air is stop-motion, but the rotors are the actual motorized movement.

Well some prototypes do get improved, the problem is we never know whether that happens because of our complaints or because they saw the faults themselves. Either way suits me as long as things get fixed :D

it also shows Batman moving by himself...:rotfl

Like I said before... the Bat flying through the air is stop-motion, but the rotor movement is realtime.

The whole thing was a stop motion, so the blades must have been rotated manually, not by motors. Or was there proof that the blades bit was filmed realtime?

Well, look at the part where the Bat rises... there's dust in the air around it, and unless they stopped the camera, moved the dust a little bit, then stopped the camera, and then moved the dust again - there are bits of this that are just realtime video. You can see the dust around the rotors as well.

That video was FKN INCREDIBLE. How did they get all the new hot toys already

What I've read is that the video is by Plastic Enemies, and they have a working relationship with Hot Toys which I'm not sure the nature of. Someone here know though, I'm sure.

There is also dust and wind when Joker is standing while the Bat comes out.

I think that its either:

- a computer generated effect
- a separately filmed dust (in front of a green screen) that was then added to the stop motion (thats what I reckon they did)

Either way Joker is proof that the dust does not indicate realtime

Looks like they rotate.

The rotation is not exactly smooth is it? Stutters a bit, perhaps intentional. Those fans up front blow pretty hard! The perfect weather for hot sunny days!

Alright, let's just agree to disagree. But the larger dust particles are not around the Joker in the video - that's just the smoke-machine. And the smoke is moving behind him when he's in a static position, albeit for just a second or two, and then the smoke shifts when he's moved into a different position.

This entire video is not stop-motion Gumby style. Some of it IS completely stop-motion, but they capture at least a second or two of realtime video interspersed throughout.
