oh god this monster won't even fit in the coffee table display as it looks to be even larger than the MR MF

I truly hope it goes into production, though I can see the hurdles involved. I can't even imagine what they'd have to charge to cover there costs for r&d, tooling to make it etc. Can you imagine what shipping would be? Anyway, I've gone from no way I'd buy it to being really disappointed if they don't after seeing the movie.

That's probably what they're struggling with... How many can be made (and sold) while keeping the cost reasonable for all parties.

True economies of scale I mean its a great looking piece but evey company goes throught massive RD Perfect grade gundams Master Piece Transformers all designed with the latest CAD programs. Creating the molds and then mass produced to recoup the time and money invested in developing the product.

To be frank I think cosidering that this is mostly plastic its should be easier less labour intesive then a figure were they have to tailor and cut and sew together to finally bring forth a product.

Hot toys averages 2 figures a month and one plastic item be its a figures or display or whatever so long as its plastic.

I hate how HT is taking a second thinking about THE BAT now.

It's f^#king bull_____, if they decide to chicken out from producing this.

Not if they've determined that it's just not feasible. They've probably been gauging feedback with the prototype based on what the approximate cost would be and may not like what they're hearing. The size, cost, and shipping requirements alone mean there just wouldn't be a great amount of buyers out there. And the fewer potential sales, the fewer pieces produced and the higher the cost. It just snowballs. I thought they were crazy for even thinking about it. :lol

This might sound totally apropos of nothing, but I'd rather shell out money for the ED-209 from Robocop before getting the Bat. If Hot Toys is looking for more/new/old ideas for tech models. And the dinosaurs from Jurassic Park. Just had to say that.

Funny you should say that. I was thinking of making one (1/6 T-Rex) lately with full skeletal structure, simulated muscles and tendons and stuff with rolling eyes system. The one thing that stumbles me is the cost. Anyone willing to undertake the project I can help with the 3D for the mold. I have at least figured out how the jaw and muscles would work.

They are contemplating cancelling this because they know they wont sell enough for the outrageous price they are going to sell it for. They can do 50 of these..it will not be worth their time and effort to setup a production line for 50 pieces. They probably need to sell at least 250 of these and I believe they dont think they can sell that many at the price they have in mind.

Someone needs to create a poll so that Hot Toys can see our enthusiasm for it. Afterwards, we can post it on their FB page.

Buy or no buy.

I for one, will be buying.

i think one of the major problems will be assembling this, and then packing and shipping, and after all that if it manages to get in one piece to the buyer without any problems its fine, but what if its damaged during shipping, will any one settle for a damaged version with partial refund, i dont think so, so that leaves the option of the customer sending it back at his own expense, or asking the customer to destroye the one in hand and ship another free of cost, impractical if u ask me, since this looks so fragile, shipping is gonna be real headache unless its a kit where the buyer assembles it on his own

I'm all in for a kit, if it means 99.9% chance of no damages

I feel like the most ____ed up part of this whole cancellation thing is the fact that they've advertised it so much already. They shouldn't have taken it to ani-con no matter how cool it made their booth look. That's just rude.
