Jaws, you paying attention? :lol

I think this doesn't look like Arnold that much really.
Its more of a statue problem IMO (as achieving great likenes on statues is harder than plastic) rather than that one in particular.

That said, if one is a statue colector, I dont see why they wouldnt get this. It won't get much better than this for a statue.:exactly:

Uh.... no. First off, it has absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with the medium. Trevor nailed Arnold 100%:

Im pretty sure they still use clay to sculpt statues.
Its just the casting material that changes.
So yeah, the likeness has nothing to do with it being a statue or figure.

:lecture:lecture:lecture

Than why the likeness on statues is not as good as Hot Toys?
Telling from my own eyes.:emperor

Stick around a bit more and you'll learn just how many great sculpts get ruined by paints. I think SilentSurfer does a phenomenal job, and I'm not kissing ass here, I mean that, but I think he just missed the bullseye on this one. I know he's said it's the photos and the lighting, but I can't see how every single photo wouldn't make this likeness pop. Especially since there're umpteen blurry cell phone pics with horrid lighting that still reveal how well a piece can be.

Wow. Now if I would have seen this first instead of the final product I would have had a different opinion. Thats a great sculpt. nothing turd like there

Yeah, the sculpt is bang on.
Cant fault it really.
As good as silentsurfer is, I think its the paint apps on Hot Toys humans that make their likenesses better on their final product.

:lol Darn tootin'! It's a fine sculpt indeed. When I receive mine, I'll take as high quality pics as is possible and force all haters to eat crow, although I'd never expect them to admit that they had actually done so.

You and I both know that haters rarely admit when they're wrong. :lol

You have a better chance at spotting sasquatch! :lol

:rotfl It's true. Now that you just typed that, you triggered my memory and I actually just now remembered that I had a dream about Sasquatch last night. What a trip! It was a kickass dream! :rock

But seriously, stop controlling my thoughts, wouldja, brother? :D

I think in this case, it's more the proto photo lighting than the paint. Not saying the paint's perfect, but looking at the shots, and having photographed several Arnie pieces myself, to get the most flattering images you want to use lighting that highlights his very defining facial features. Sideshow's photos compared to Trev's really highlight this, Trev's shots make the cheekbones and everything pop, Sideshow's photos feature interesting lighting compared to their photos from a few years ago, but it looks a bit generic, it does seem like it was planned with the thought, let's bring out the Arnold in this.

If you're talking about TheFiend (the only "others" who commented), that was all in fun. If you couldn't tell by reading the posts, you need to knock back a beer or two, kick your boots of and chill. You're taking my posts waaaaay too serious, bub. :cuckoo:

And just to set the record straight, I passed on this. Arnold is there, just not enough for me personally to drop $300+ on it. I don't know if it's the paints or photos, but it was enough for me to pass on it. I've stated such earlier in this very thread (go back and look for proof). So don't think this is about company favoritism, it's about pointing out bull____ when I see it.

Not talking about theFiend. I was talking about how I pointed out all the people that were complaning about the PF. Either complaining about it looking like Kurt Russell or that they showed it too friends and they said it sucked and so on and so forth. I just comented that I did not understand why they keep coming back if they don't like it to tell those who do how bad it is.

Darth Snoop had some of the same complaints but as Barbarian said i got the luck of the draw and you decided to argue my point with me. Which is fine. but you let others past. Then I see you had argued with a few others and then actually complained about someone else voicing their fanboy opnion about the same statue that I was defending that you attacked me for.

Ya see where I am going here. I hope so. Because I am getting lost.:lol

Here is where you started with me.
Same can be said for the fans of the piece with their umpteen copycat posts praising posts about how much this piece is their personal grail. Goes both ways guys. :huh

Here is a small one that started with barbarian about the possible light up feature.

Or maybe just laugh at the freaks who're expecting anything more than what we see already.

Then with Gates70 about the same thing.
K, so Sideshow can send them all to you and, since it's so easy, you'll be more than happy to hammer them all out.

Here you are with the HT Fanboy
:slap:lol

Did you come up with this theory ******* to your HT T1 in your HotToys underoos? :huh

FYI fanboy, HT's version of this was released YEARS ago, and Sideshow's Arnold likeness spanks that figure's like a readheaded stepchild. :lol

Of course all of these went on further then what i have posted

There was also someone here or in another thread complaining about how you just like to play Devil's Advocate. I think I said the same thing.

What is really funny is that you are not even going to get this piece yet you keep coming here to argue with people:slap

So you argue if people like it complain about people that don't, you argue yourself if they don't like it, and you argue if people want improvemnents. Yet no purchase for you.:cuckoo::cuckoo:

Ah, I see what you're saying. No, apples and oranges. You wanted people who didn't like it to go away. "If you don't have an interest in this product, why are you even posting here? Reading negative post after negative post gets old after a while." To which I responded, "It goes both ways with all the handjobby happy 'I DIG IT!' posts."

You wanted to limit thread posts to just positive compliments here in the thread. I was arguing that it takes good and bad to have great discussion and that those who dislike the piece have just as much right to post/repeat what they don't like as those who post that it's the jam in their jellyroll.

Barbarians was about not being reasonable in expecting Sideshow to instantly think of a light-up feature (though I don't think he was pressing it as much as that other dude was).

The HT fanboy was making ____ up to pedestal HotToys T1 T800 and it's future release.

COMPLETELY different from any of the points you and I were debating but you're trying to lump several different discussions all into one thing. :nono

Wikipedia has this to say:

In Internet slang, a troll is someone who posts inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum, chat room, or blog, with the primary intent of provoking readers into an emotional response or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion. The noun troll may refer to the provocative message itself, as in: "That was an excellent troll you posted". While the word troll and its associated verb trolling are associated with Internet discourse, media attention in recent years has made such labels subjective, with trolling describing intentionally provocative actions outside of an online context. For example, mass media uses troll to describe "a person who defaces Internet tribute sites with the aim of causing grief to families."

At least thenam wears the Troll label with pride :)

But still No more food for you!

:cuckoo: I was laughing at that because there's a member here, Devil666, who has that face in his avy and sig. As for being a "troll," I was here hanging out in this thread and having fun with the guys. You came along looking to pick at me and start an argument over nothing really. So who exactly is trying to stir up ____ and namecalling? Give ya a clue...., he has "Bruce" as his avy. :wink1:
