Re: Building the ultimate Terminator T-800 figure.

looks great GB.............im assuming you are gonna damage the clothes a bit???

Regarding the sat toys outfit, you're a braver man (or richer) than I for buying it! although well done! I have been thinking that someone on the board who is already tailoring 1/6 outfits should have a go at doing terminator clothing too. Perhaps the outfit could even be made more screen accurate than the sat toys set is.

I'd like to have a go at it myself even if it is just the jacket, as there are still leather pants + shirt sets quite cheaply available on ebay (around $20 from when I last checked). However I would not know where to source those small zippers from is the main problem.

i dont know GR that biker set would be damn hard to beat. its very nice and very much in scale. if someone could & would custom tailor that at a price lower than $50 i would buy a few sets & bow to their greatness.:D
anyway .....hows yours coming along???

You've got a good point about the detail on the sat toys outfit barryo, it would be a challenge to work out from scratch! OTOH maybe "reverse engineer" one of their outfits to get the right size for materials. I have two of them and would take one apart to get the patterns and cutting right. The sewing machine is gathering dust and I'm itching to use it for someting 1/6 lol. It would not be easy, and maybe I'm being too casual about the undertaking :) Those little details (zips and rivets) would be a hurdle. As for the price, it could possibly sell for about $50 (I'm guessing) maybe less, as that was the original price range for the sat toys set at retail.

As for my Arnie, well I had officially "finished" it and posted pics a few pages back. However I could not help tinkering with the paint again lol ..so here's the latest. I've probably repainted this head 3 or 4 times already :horror

Need to get a batch of proper M79 grenades and work on highlights, but I'm generally happy with how this one is coming along.

Still, enjoying the practice :lol

p.s. i need to enlarge my grenades as well......:google....(that doesnt sound right, :lol)

just one little nitpick............his eyes look a little buggy......like open too wide..........know what i mean???...........i can never get the eyes like i want them & they are a damn thorn in my side when it comes to this kinda stuff.

Yep, just waiting until I get all the parts together before finishing it.

sweet.............i've been trying to tell myself that the t2 bash i did was good enough, but now im leaning to the t1................maybe more so because he represented a more un-pc time. he was one bad ass killin' mo-fo.......:rock. (speaking strictly in the movie-killing scenario sense.....:angelsmil)...:lol

Re: Building the ultimate Terminator T-800 figure.

Glad you like it barryo and thanks for the tip about the eyes! I think I did go a bit big with them this time round, so yeah I see where you're coming from :lol I know what you mean too about getting the eyes just right. Funny thing is, using a pencil to draw them in first makes them look perfect, but when it is time to paint the color in that's another story! :emperor Keep going with the crown, and I'll down a corona :chew

Re: Building the ultimate Terminator T-800 figure.

Here are progress pics of the head. It is one I bought on ebay, I dremelled out most of the right side and inserted part of an endo skeleton bust also found on ebay. Still plenty to do :D

Re: Building the ultimate Terminator T-800 figure.

And where are you going to get that elusive 1/6 AR-18 assault rifle that everyone wants but no one can find??? Or do you have one already there?

That's what I'm going for... should be complete soon :rock

Re: Building the ultimate Terminator T-800 figure.

Nah, can't find the rifle... just an AK47, I'll probably just use the shotgun which was easy to find.

Re: Building the ultimate Terminator T-800 figure.

You can make one up... I did with an assault rifle advertised on eBay as a sniper rifle, removed the sight, the original clip, and added a pair of M16 mags... the article on AR-18 assault rifles:

e_bay seller selling the model I used:

Its pretty cool but is there another sniper rifle that could be customised to be even more AR-18 accurate? Or is that the best you could find at that time?
