Also there's that trilogy talk again. Well done lads, don't just try to make one good film. Immediately talk about a trilogy. Disregard the fact that Terminator Salvation was also planned as the first of a trilogy but no one gave enough of a $h!t to make it sufficiently successful for that plan to be seen through. And as a result the primary meat of the story was left untold. **** it. Make exactly the same mistake again, why not.

Then movies like Dredd that aren't really planned for sequel bait or trilogies, but turn out great and should have a sequel, don't get one.

Now you gotta be a superhero for it to work out.

I know right. Oh well, I'm just going to have extremely low expectations and wait and see what happens, same as I did with Salvation.

I just don't understand where their confidence is coming from that they think they're gonna get a new trilogy out of this. T3 was an awful end to the 'original' trilogy and is widely panned by fans. T4 failed to blow anyone away. Sarah Connor Chronicles couldn't get to a 3rd season.

The implication when you start off planning a trilogy is that you have to save most of your best ideas for the middle film and the final film. Terminator is not a big deal to audiences anymore. It can't afford to do that. How have they not learnt this by now?

That guy from Zero Dark Thirty and Gatsby as John Connor, seriously?

Arnie should absolutely NOT be in this movie just like Ford shouldn't have made kingdom of the Crystal Thingy.
Saying that, Terminator shouldn't be made full stop.

Only story still worth telling is the whole futur war with Connor sending back Reese. Basically the original scripted T2 opening.

I agree sir. But at least Harrison Ford playing an older Indy makes more sense than an old Arnold reprising a role of a character he played in 1991. A character that isn't supposed to age. The last Terminator movie ever made. EVER... Nothing since 1991.

it's a dark gritty retelling

they're going to go very serious in tone, no comedy

it's the comeplete opposite of what the original was about

so... like most reboots?
