Me too, but I loved Terminator/2. That's why these sequels are all the more upsetting.

Prometheus, whether it was a good Alien prequel or not, was certainly better than T3, T4 and mostly likely T5.

Prometheus is deeply flawed but not due to a "phone it in" approach.
The new Terminator looks like a by-the-numbers syfy channel piece of crap. I'm almost surprised there's not a giant snake in the trailer.

They should have left in the deleted scene where the two guys were vaporising weed in their helmets before that. Maybe people wouldn't have complained so much that they were acting like idiots.

I would still question why two people embarking on an historic insterstellar mission of this nature would be written to be a weed-smoking type of people. It seems to me the selection process might have ruled such persons out?

Yes and no. There's a lot of morons in the world that make extremely poor choices, many of them highly educated that get into positions of trust/confidence before ****ing up. I know what you mean, though... it'd have been hard to write in the movie without seeming to have been written to explain the situation they end-up in or being cliché.
That said, overall, I liked Prometheus and it seems like 10x the movie this is. It had some problems but it was still for me a very engaging movie. This just looks like complete garbage.
