Re: Terminator: Genisys (July 1st, 2015)

Jim Cameron gives the film a glowing review. It also has new footage of 84 Arnold. It's CG, but it looks good.

I really want a new figure of young Arnold too, plus the T-3000 looks sick!

Jaysus. What to think of that. Has Cameron lost the plot with regard his own franchise as time has gone on (like Lucas) or is this going to be one of the most spectacular fan misjudgements in the history of movies and this movie turns out to be everything he says.

Lots of new footage in that video and it didn't make me feel any better about this. Major uncanny valley with that CG Arnold among other things.

Re: Terminator: Genisys (July 1st, 2015)

He definitely doesn't need the money to praise it. Maybe it's just out of respect to Arnold.

Who says he doesn't need more money, not him.

The more some have the more they want.

I really hope you're right. If this movie turns out to be amazing, with all the Chronicle statues coming, it'll be an awesome time to be a Terminator fan/collector. It might even push me to pick up their 1:1 endo.

"If you like T1 and T2, you're going to love Genisys." Um, wut? Oh Cameron, you really aren't helping to get me excited about Avatar 2.

Re: Terminator: Genisys (July 1st, 2015)

Yeah, really not sure what to make of that one. I saw it and rushed here but it seems you beat me too it. Lots of footage in that, I'm pretty worried about how CGI heavy this one is tbh.

Re: Terminator: Genisys (July 1st, 2015)

Perfect! LMAO! :rotfl

:lol thanks for the rep

Because that's the only one he wasn't in? :lol

I guess he feels no connection to the personnel involved in the making of that film and feels no obligation to respect it - so he's free to call a spade a spade on that one. But I wonder does he genuinely not recognise T3 as the POS it also is or is he just playing the professional respect game there just like Cameron may be.....

He definitely doesn't need the money to praise it. Maybe it's just out of respect to Arnold.

My only doubt is he comes across pretty sincere in that video. Unless he's just a really really good spoofer and has no qualms about doing it as I would if I were in his position.

It looks pretty good. Although it's not difficult to top this gahbege.

Re: Terminator: Genisys (July 1st, 2015)

I mean doing a real life person that we all know well is a serious *****...only indication is the eyes (slightly).....the new one I mean, not that screen shot

Re: Terminator: Genisys (July 1st, 2015)

I meant to mention that too. Holy crap the 84 Arnie looks real to me! Must remain firm in my anti CGI stance though. :lecture

Re: Terminator: Genisys (July 1st, 2015)

It looks okay, but when placed next to the real actors and props etc, it sticks out as being fake like a saw thumb. I just don't like CGI characters (or vehicles) at all. Although once committed to this story idea, it was probably unavoidable...

Re: Terminator: Genisys (July 1st, 2015)

So he's pretty much saying is that if you love the first 2 and you hate this one then you're an *******. :lol

Re: Terminator: Genisys (July 1st, 2015)

-What I'm guessing is the younger version of 'Pops' looks like a Hot Toys figure at 1:04
-I think that clip spoils how the T-1000 will be destroyed

Re: Terminator: Genisys (July 1st, 2015)

I stopped watching it after the first major spoiler hit.

Re: Terminator: Genisys (July 1st, 2015)

Yeah, his interview read like something that would be a special feature on a blu-ray for people who've already seen the movie.

"You see what's so brilliant about this twist is...and the reason this particular surprise worked was because..." not something that you'd air on the internet a month before the movie hits theaters. :slap

They really had us all Day 1 when that first teaser hit and we all assumed the T-1000 would be the main bad guy. We were so stoked to get our opening weekend tickets for all the lolz and then online chatter afterward. But they've systematically tried to ruin every single thing that might have been a cool surprise ever since.
