Re: Terminator: Genisys (July 1st, 2015)

I don't feel any star should be bigger than the story they are in. We are seeing that at least four Arnold terminators have been sent back through time, and that's just the ones seen in the movies. The first two movies are cohesive - one model 101 sent back to kill Sarah Connor, and a second sent back as a protector for both her and her son. That to me is plausible. I would have much preferred to see a different model of the T-800 series go back for the other movies, but that is just my personal opinion.

I don't understand why they've made Sarah Connor in the new movie look like a twelve year old, or Reese look look like a high-school jock. I find the line-drops from the other movies in the trailers i.e. 'Get Out' for the new one off-putting and cheesy. It's just become more of a popcorn spectacle rather than anything intelligent that makes any sense to me (i.e. the bus flip that would break the backs of anyone inside).

I did like many elements in T:S. We saw the progression of the earlier series T-600s to the T-800s. The people taken prisoner in the underground space at the beginning of the movie. I liked how Reese and Connor were cast. But the whole Marcus Wright thing muddled things and again didn't really make sense in the overall scope of things. It's as though a screenwriter needs to block-out the events of all the movies and use that to form plans for one larger story but ensure each story is self contained should they decide not to make more. Instead they seem to work in isolation on their own movie kind of referencing the others, but not really.

So a T-1000 goes back to kill Sarah Connor's parents...yet Sarah has already been born and is T2 John Connor age? What's the point of killing her parents then?

The way they're talking about that makes it unclear, they're making it sound like Sarah's parents were the specific targets. I mean by all means kill them in case they make a Sarah Connor 2.0 but if Sarah herself already exists surely she would be the primary target. Also, I guess T-1000s are now being mass-produced in whatever new timeline has been created. He was a prototype in T2. Man, the resistance is just making things worse and worse it would seem :lol

Not only that, but it completely disregards the scene in the original where the T-800 goes through the phone book looking for Sarah knowing nothing more than her name and Reese explaining Skynet knew nothing about her.

Yep, I mentioned that before but ''new timeline'' is the answer to all these problems it would seem. I suppose somehow all records now weren't lost in the war? Perhaps only the timeline of T1 by itself create the scenario where all this information is lost and that T2 changed things or something?

''The whole thing goes'' if this film is somehow good I will allow myself to believe such rationalisation. But if the film is as bad as it looks I will default right back to T1/T2 and the rest is bull***t :D

Sorry guys. Difabio just gets more and more disconnected from reality as time goes on. I'm afraid he can't help us now.

I'd like to assume this is a better waste of time than the Genisys.

I wouldn't exactly call this a smile

He's smiling because he's next to get a kiss. If he had lips he'd be puckering up :)

They should have burned part of the Terminator's face off during the rap.
