You guys are too harsh- Furious 7 was one of the worst movies I've seen in the last few years and look at the box office- JW was ok and fun but not a great film by any strectch.
TG doesn't have to be good to be a success- but are there enough people who will buy a ticket?

Global market, man. Who said the world has taste?

Transformers 4 was also a hit in theatres and is a bad movie. It's todays kids that flood the theatres all the while texting and giving the movie a glance once in a while, while texting. Oh look at that, an explosion!! And then go back to texting. Short attention spans need eye candy to keep them entertained.

Depends on what else is opening the same weekend as Genisys. Mad Max was slaughtered by Pitch Perfect 2, which was a very mediocre sequel. Jurassic World seemed to open with zero competition and made staggering numbers that no one had predicted. Paul Walker died before Furious 7 was completed, so much of it's box office success had to be because of that.

I see Genisys having a moderate opening weekend, around 60 million for the 3 days. If it gets bad reviews though, the earnings will drop pretty quickly once it's out.

One thing I forgot to mention from watching the original Terminator on the big screen. The whole news report about the first Sarah Connor victim being 35 years old. Whaat?? I'll be 41 soon and that chick still looks like my mom. :lol

‘Terminator Genisys’ Review: Arnold Schwarzenegger Rebooted | Variety

Great review, pretty much what I expected.
Still a must see, FOR THE LULZ!

Do you ask strangers what they like to eat, then base what you eat, on their opinions, tastes, etc? Why do people put so much into critic's reviews? They don't share my tastes, they don't know what I like, and they certainly can't tell me what I find entertaining. I understand that you posted a bad review because you're looking for someone to back up your perspective. You don't want to like what you've seen/heard, so you want it to fail.

You could have posted this review - Terminator Genisys Review - CINEMABLEND - but that wouldn't fit your agenda.
I am looking forward to seeing it. I will base my opinion on what I think, not what random strangers and critics think.
Why are people so invested in seeing this movie fail when they claim to be fans. That is a rhetorical question, as I'm not interested in any justification of said circle-jerk.

Why do people put so much into critic's reviews?
Probably because it's no different than putting much into friend's opinion, which is "relying on someone else's knowledge and taste".
You're free to listen to opinions and not forced to believe any of them.

In my case, I already knew enough about the film and this review only confirmed my assumptions. :dunno

An example of why I read "professional" criticism:
I had no intentions of seeing "Jurassic World", but went there because of possitive casual feedback it got over first two days of release. It was the most painful cinematic experience I ever had, but it was my own decision and my own fault.

1. It's not a question without a question mark
2. Your "question" is unclear

I do not believe it. I saw T1 in a cinema tonight for the first time ever and, also for the first time ever, I remarked on this very thing to my friend^

I don't know if it's a case of 80s hairstyles ageing someone or what but I thought that first Sarah Connor had to be closer to 50.

Very interesting experience seeing it in the cinema, catching other people's reactions to a well-known film. People were laughing at a lot of stuff that was never meant to be funny - not just talking about dated effects - pretty much every line of dialogue Arnie had, people were laughing....like as though this was Uncle Bob, the T-850 or Pops. Apparently even killer Arnie is chuckle-worthy today.

While not surprising, that is indeed a bit depressing to hear. It makes me feel old lol.

LMFAO :lol

God forbid you actually see it and have your own opinion.

You're not wrong! I thought maybe the actress was older and playing younger, but no, she was 35 or 36 when she did that film. The 80's made people look old!

That's because they no longer see the Terminator, they just see Arnold. He has played that role so much on and off the screen, that he's no longer intimidating. Same happened to Darth Vader. I bet they don't laugh at the T 1000.

But seriously, it must be the lighting or hair. They look about the same age here.

That's sad. I watched the film for like the 50th time and I still saw this big beast of a m************r whose jaw alone looks like it could kill you.
