Well, a future war movie wouldn't have to be a T2 sequel. It could have been a T1/T2 prequel. So T3 wasn't needed for that.

It was also a completely different Hollywood movie industry back then compared to today. You certainly never got long trailers back then nor so many.

One thing about the finale of T3 that seemed kind of fishy:

T-850 holding up that massive door, grabbing the loose wires to detain the TX and stuffing his fractured power cell into her mouth. How did he do that and still have a hand free to keep the door from crushing him? :lol

That thing he stuffed in her mouth wasn't a power cell :monkey3

EVILFACE! You love Conan the Destroyer. You of all people can appreciate Rise of the Machines. Right? Right???

:lol

It has some bad CGI and a overall TV Movie feel about it. but other than the horribly casted Nick Stahl, I like T3. Mainly because the T-850 is an ass to John and that he killed future John and was sent back to protect him. It's no where close to the first 2 flicks, but it's fun. I hope this one is about on the same level.

I want Hot Toys T-850 and TX dolls.

Salvation. All it has going for is pretty damn good FX.

So it's settled then, T3 is canon.

Please let it be so, that thesis a-dev posted is too damn long to read. :lol

Weirdly it looked like the Sarah Connor Chronicles was gonna go down the Sarah Connor cancer road, and yet otherwise appeared to ignore T3.

If people like it and I'm sure some secretly watch it, then they should think of it as canon, but if you don't , then ignore it. Or enjoy it for what it is and don't think of it as canon. James Cameron ignores it, does that give A-dev's argument more validity?

Why is T3 any more or less canon than anything else released with the Terminator name on it?

New generation is funny: is it canon is essentially asking if some make-believe movie stuff is 'real'? :lol

Who cares? Watch what you like. Then die happy.

Yep. If T1 was a 9 and T2 was an 8 then T3 was a 6.5 that was still a lot of fun. It gets an 8 for story though.

But what was with the "TV movie" vibe? I was channel surfing the other night and caught like 20 minutes of Scream 2. That freaking $20 million budget slasher movie sequel was SO much more cinematic than the $200 million Terminator 3. :lol Yeah they weren't blowing up buildings but you could at least tell it was a movie. A lot of T3 reminds me of that old TV movie "The Day After Tomorrow." Has some movie "stars" like Steve Guttenberg and John Lithgow and kind of epic, somber events but "feels" like a story that would be told on TV.

It's obvious that T3 has a huge budget, but still feels like a TV movie with a huge budget. A pretty amazing accomplishment that not even tiny art house movies achieve. :lol
