Terminator sequels in a nutshell:
Does this include T2?
Terminator sequels in a nutshell:
Haven't see the movie yet, but. . .damn this sounds stupid.Maybe.
A question that it begs for me is this:
1. If Skynet can "see all timelines" and so it chooses this one to inhabit as the one it can "win," well, what will that mean when it still inevitably loses? Which is why I fear that it chose this timeline because both sides will win and the only way for Skynet to survive is to join the humans like Matrix Revolutions or some stupid thing.
What I *hope* is that Skynet has some sort of grand vision that allows it to peak into all universes, see that it will win this one if it invades it from the outside, but then something it *can't* see happens to still prevent it from winning. Maybe Pops' deleted data banks has something to do with it. You have to somehow manipulate these dimensions while remaining "off the grid" so that Skynet can't anticipate your moves and adjust accordingly.
T2 is a painful subject to discuss. Unneeded sequel yet such a great blockbuster...
I don't wanna think of it as a sequel to the cult classic sci fi because it's an incredible movie when judged on its own merits.
You can have the same argument about Alien and Aliens, and I've got the same notion on that... growing up with Aliens, but liked Alien more the older I got.

A L I E N is the only true Alien movie. It's just so brilliant, so ahead of its time, and holds up so amazingly well. Makes Aliens look like a cartoon. And it's light-years ahead of The Terminator (T1) in terms of style and filmmaking technique.
Yep.
ALIEN is the one and only, but Aliens are still too glorious and nostalgic to ignore.
If another A-sequel is a go, they better make it as close to Cameron's vision as possible and avoid references to O'Bannon's story.
Khev? Do something about this^ He's saying things I don't like.
Haven't played it yet, unfortunately.I don't remember your opinion of Alien: Isolation...

I need new display since the current one is old and got faded areas which makes dark imagery very hard to see.
I thought all Term fans were by default also Alien fans... and Predator fans? What sacrilege? Alien is the classiest monster movie ever made.
Well, I saw the film again with my brother...he wanted to see it. Unfortunately, I still feel that the writers didn't capture the essence of the characters, and the casting didn't help either. The scene where Sarah can't tell if she's looking at Kyle or the T 1000, so she shoots one of them, was probably one of the most obvious scenes where you can tell these people didn't get who Kyle Reese was. His reaction to almost getting shot was so out of character, "You could've have shot me!" The original Reese would have thought she did the right thing in that situation. Courtney didn't even feel like he was a soldier with the weight of the "world" on his shoulders like Michael Biehn. I do give Courtney credit for the "not obsolete" line...that was ok.
The scene where they are in their bunker loading clips was a bit strange, didn't the T 800 have like 30 years to load some damn clips? Also, Sarah picking a bus out of all the possible options available to escape was beyond dumb. Why would you pick a vehicle that is hard to move, not fast, no maneuverability? I guess the director really wanted that bus flip for the trailer
Having said that, the film was still entertaining, and the more I think about it, it did some things right. The tone of the film is consistent with T1 and T2, imo. The tone of T1 and T2 is melancholy...there's a sadness but there's also the indomitable human spirit, and this film had that never give up feel. Even the stupid humor didn't bother me because the scenes were cut abruptly, so I liked how they edited those scene just at the right time before the scenes and "jokes" were too long, and it became annoying. I like this film more than Salvation and it's a bit better than T3, but if only they had gotten a better actor to play Reese. The social commentary was a good idea...but ultimately, it was pointless because they just wanted a countdown to have more "tension"...I guess? Still, I had a good time, my brother hated it, and I'll watch this mess again on dvd.
