Re: Terminator: Genesis (July 1st, 2015)

Reminds me of T3.

Re: Terminator: Genesis (July 1st, 2015)

Why did they create a young Terminator? Would be the same machine no matter the skin.

Re: Terminator: Genesis (July 1st, 2015)

Skynet didn´t create a particular "old" terminator.

This terminator looked like a young 101 years ago, but Arnold said in a interview, while promoting Sabotage, that the human skin of a terminator ages like a human too, only a lot slower, meaning...this is a terminator which lived among humans for decades.

Guess they picked up the concept of a so called "temporal terminator" from Aliens vs. Predator vs. Terminator and switched it up a bit.
"A terminator for the ages", only that the one from AvPvT didn´t age.

Re: Terminator: Genesis (July 1st, 2015)

There will be multiple Terminators. Byung Hun Lee is playing a T-1000, while there is a scene from T1 where old Arnie walks into the aftermath of the original T-800 killing the punks.

Re: Terminator: Genesis (July 1st, 2015)

Yeah, I know that.
I follow every step this new terminator takes.

But Arnold´s old terminator character is said to have been there many years. So skynet didn´t dispatch both at the same time, bu it seems to me, that the original 3 terminator movies are all within 1 timeline and T4 started a new one, which is why the old terminator got sent back, cause a new loop and we see him coming across the young T-800 from T1.

I would even go so far and assume that Lee´s T-1000 is only him "playing" him physically and the cgi-improved young Patrick is put over him, in similar fashion to Roland Kickinger in T4, since Genesis is said to cross several timelines, namely T1 + 2.

Re: Terminator: Genesis (July 1st, 2015)

What's with Arnold starred Terminator films that open up on a Canada Day? This is the second I know of. Terminator 3 opened up on July the 1st.

OH CANADA....

Re: Terminator: Genesis (July 1st, 2015)

He looks like a younger Arnold, dude - chest shape aside. :huh

Maybe, but that sounds like you're advocating a full remake. I wouldn't have thought you'd be interested in such a thing...

Or...a T-800 sent to 1984 wasn't destroyed and was left to age.

2 101s?
Highly unlikely, I think.
Disguise blown and what not, but nevertheless...interesting idea...

You can see how the second T-800 would have to lay low though. His Skynet-sent counterpart was shooting up police stations and so on, the other T-800 would be assumed to be the same guy and would be hunted.

There will be multiple Terminators. Byung Hun Lee is playing a T-1000, while there is a scene from T1 where old Arnie walks into the aftermath of the original T-800 killing the punks.

This kind of idea has me very curious about the film. Since they refuse to do a proper future war film I think this could be fun. And it may well end up being crap but what else is new.

Arnold still looks awful.

Perhaps not keeping it as tight as Stallone but I think he still looks cool.

Re: Terminator: Genesis (July 1st, 2015)

So it's going to be like BTTF Part II where Marty goes back to 1955 a second time and witnesses himself doing actions from the first movie? I wonder how they'll explain Reese and Sarah being different people.

Re: Terminator: Genesis (July 1st, 2015)

Yeah....I'm guessing they won't. They won't show Linda Hamilton or Michael Biehn, only the younger T-800. Imagine seeing that punk jacket again...

Re: Terminator: Genesis (July 1st, 2015)

Even if this ends up terrible I'm looking forward to it. Walking into scenes from T1 sounds hilarious. :lol Should be a fun watch.
