Anyone else notice John's radio from T2 was the same one he used in this film? It even played the same song...

T4 was an OK movie, better than I expected, but still, could've been better. It's obvious that no future Terminator movie will ever be even near T1 or T2... At least it was better than T3, and better than I expected, so I'm still happy with it. The Arnold part was f-ing epic.

You see and thats exactly how I feel about it too, well said.

eh....I enjoyed it. I also enjoyed XMO: Wolverine and Star Trek. I am not a die hard fan of the orginal TV show (Star Trek), comic (Wolverine) or movie (Terminator) therefore, I watched each movie as a casual moviegoer. No film was perfect, each film had their share of story holes, lack of character development and bad FX affects for even a casual fan. I give the films a range from 7 - 8 out of 10.

I guess John must have gone back to the Mall to retrieve the stereo and the tape after the bombs went off. Guess he could have gone back after the events of T2.

Stuff like this annoyed me because it was a lame attempt at a tie in.

I doubt it was meant as a tie in...more of a nod (cookie) to fans of the series.

It shouldn't exist. Why do you think James Cameron didn't come back? Because the story was finished.

He himself admitted while doing the 3D ride that it would bridge the gap between T2 and T3. Sounds to me like the man himself didn't think it ended at T2. Scroll back to my discussion with SilentSurfer. You'll find the quote there.

I'm pretty sure Cameron did say that he thought the story was done (or at least that he had told as much of it as he wanted to) and when Arnold called him asking if he should do T3, Cameron basically said that he should just try and get as much money for it as possible.

EDIT: From IMDB

Ridley Scott and John McTiernan were considered for the director's job after James Cameron turned down the offer, saying that he had told the story completely after Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991).

The studios had long wanted to make a sequel to the previous Terminator films, but for a long time Arnold Schwarzenegger refused to do it unless James Cameron was directing. Cameron eventually told his friend to "Just do it and ask for a ^^^^-load of money", reasoning that the character was as much Schwarzenegger's as it was his.

Anyone else notice the Gun's N Roses song playing? The one from T2? The video in which Arnie stared in! No oh well.....

i saw it last night folks and i thought it was quite poor..just lots of action set pieces very loosely strung together with little or no build up between them, lame score from danny elfman and the arnie cameo looked very fake indeed..2 out of 5

'You could be mine' by Guns N roses, when he sets up the trap for the MotoTerminator

I have one concern with the ending and it is this:

I know the whole theme of the movie is how Marcus sacrifices himself for Conner but I find it extremely hard to believe that there were no other soldiers or anyone who could donate a heart. Killing Marcus was a huge disadvantage for the Resistance, since they could have had an extremely strong person helping them infiltrate Skynet.

...or on the other hand, Marcus' sacrifice is a positive thing for the resistance for two reasons: one, the obvious of keeping Connor alive and the other less obvious, but interesting idea of Marcus the MAN demonstrating to everyone that as a man, he still had a choice over the machine he had become...a positive message for the troops fighting these relentless machine killers. I still like the way it actually played...it was all about heart, both literally and figuratively. As for another soldier offering themself up....that wouldn't have played right at all.
I'm going to miss Marcus in the next one too...he made his mark on the Terminator saga in TS.

On a non-spoiler note, it is great reading all of this positive reaction to the film from the folks across the pond!

I really enjoyed it. I was entertained from begining to end. It will be interesting to see what turns up on the Blu-ray, an extended cut or a heap of deleted scenes. Anyways, I'll see it again this weekend. :naughty
