TERMINATOR vs ROBOCOP
I hadn't heard of it, and I think the editing is brilliant!
And I would pay good cash to see a real movie of it...but they'd screw it up...:lol

Have you ever read the Dark Horse 4-part mini-series 'Robocop vs Terminator'? That was one of the best comics they ever did, imo. The story was absolutely brilliant, as was the artwork. They seamlessly fused both storylines into one hell of a great "what if" story. That would make one ultimate kick-ass movie, especially if James Cameron and Dark Horse Comics collaborated on it! :monkey5

Re: Official Terminator thread.

My all-time favorite is Terminator: The Burning Earth. The art was done by Alex Ross and it was the entire Future War story with John Conner leading the resistance into Skynet and sending back Reese. It was the most kickass Terminator story ever and I had always hoped T3 would be based upon but sadly wasn't. If Cameron had done the Future War prequel I would have been in ecstasy.

All of the above. Pure Terminator bliss. And when I heard Cameron wasn't doing T3, I knew that was pretty much the end of the line...:monkey2

Re: Official Terminator thread.

Yeah, in this advanced CGI day and age, a movie with a total future set story, all John Connor and folks fighting armies of automatons, setting up the Reese story, is beyond obvious. You could make that movie, or print money. Whichever. Arnold would only have to be a cameo, if at all.
Stick to the droids!
I say, DO IT HOLLYWOOD!

(Need Napoleon Dynamite's "IDIOTS!" about now...)

There's just one problem with doing it now... THOSE GUYS ARE OLD NOW!!!

BUT there is a solution, at least for the Arnold bit... you could CGI a digital Arnold into the film and there would be something aesthetically appropriate about it being a CGI facsimile of the actor doing a digital performance of a machine Terminator mimicking humans. First of all I think Arnold would consent to having his likeness digitally scanned. It would swell his ego even more. They could do Terminator sequels (or Arnold sequels) ad infinitum with a digital likeness and actor's would receive royalties without having to act anymore :lol He could provide the voice-over or they could sample his voice since he doesn't have a lot of dialogue anyway.

As for Michael Biehn, he still looks good for his age but continuity-wise it wouldn't match the 20-something Reese from T1. Maybe if Biehn were to perform they could digitally de-age him. That might work, but another actor playing Kyle Reese other than Michael Biehn? Forget it. Not interested. I was jarred enough by Nick Stahl playing John Connor and that makes 3 different actors having played that part already. It would be inevitable that we would have a fourth JC in any Future War prequel. My favorite is Michael Edwards the actor who played the adult JC in T2. It's really too bad Cameron didn't have the budget to do the expanded Future War sequence as scripted in T2 (most of which was recycled for T2 3-D at Universal Studios theme park ride). I have always dreamed of seeing a feature-length Future War prequel to Terminator with the ORIGINAL cast but I fear time itself may have finally caught up to them.

Speaking of which....

Finally got a chance to repaint this bad boy...
All these Hicks, and no Reese!
Now, there is balance in the Biehn universe.

I say, bring him back, headline the man, and ROCK US OUT!
Reese was always my favorite character of the first flick.
He deserves better coverage.

Re: Official Terminator thread.

Wow that looks great! Dead on T1 Reese. Is that a resculpted Stoner head?

Speaking of Kyle Reese, I was working on my custom '84 Reese inspired by dekadentdave's custom, and I broke one of his ankle joints trying to take his foot of the boot. Would anyone know where to find older HT feet/parts?

They are a real pain to find on ebay, it seems my only option is to buy a whole new body.:monkey4

I hate that HT cheaped out on some of their figures, and gave them "boot feet" instead of actually feet inside their boots.

MY GOD LES!!! I am amazed at how much that looks like Biehn!!!! I do have one small criticism though (gods forbid I get struck down) but his eyes look like he's looking up. If it were up to me I would bring them down just a bit. Other than that he's dead-on!!!

Damn, I'll have to send you BOTH of my Kyle Reese heads for you to paint after my marines are done!

Re: Official Terminator thread.

SCAR?!?!? I din't see no stinking scar!!!!
Anybody got a better shot of it??? :D

He's looking up Dek, because I wanted him to be. Not up so much looking up, as head tilted down, eyes up. Biehn always does that. I couldn't make it work straight on. Not to my liking anyway. BUt, that's not to say I can't ever. Be honored to paint your Reese's.

And hey, Speaking of your custom, (Me too, My Lord gotta have 84 Reese!) Dek, how did you dye that Connor coat and with what color shades? AND, shirt, pants, dye them too? Hard to match. I got the shoes, BINGO! but no other stuff. What shotgun is that also?

See...ain't I a stinker?!:D

And I am gonna need to DAD (Darkartistdirty TM) this 84 version guy big time! He was not clean!

Re: Official Terminator thread.

Les, I used Rit dye with a mixture of grey and OD green. The pants and shirt are Future War Reese's. For the pants, I need to splash some white, black and brown paint splotches in a pattern similar to the hobo's he stole them from. The shotgun is from my T3 T-850 and cut off the stock and tied some thread around it and his arm.

And yes, the scar is VERY prominent in the film running down the left side of his lip over the chin. And if you want to get really specific you could paint his burned laser skin barcode under his forearm.

And YES I still have to paint the shoes black and silver!

Thanks Dave!
Black and silver....
:lol
Are you sure? :D *runs and hides*

Thanks on the formula on the coat. I guess I need to make the shirt and pants then. No future Reese in hand...

Re: Official Terminator thread.

Glad to see this Kyle action guys! Dek, yours looks great! Les, gotta do that scar bro, now that you have him there. I don't have a scar on mine yet. As you know I am doing a Custom "Later Battle" Kyle. I'm using Les' HT Hicks head, DAD is dying a trench navy blue and doing his pants for me as we speak. The shoes, I have Dead On Nike's black (with silver swoosh I painted, even has white borders) and a shotgun, just needs the ankle strap and he's done!

Ready to go... and he'll have some company!

Re: Official Terminator thread.

p, you gotta get one of those Dragon German shepards to go with him. :lol
