Very excited to get this guy on Monday!

Last figure I got was the Alien... now Endo: the 2 most wicked figures this year so far.

But as much as I love my alien (best figure I have) I expect that the ENDO will be even more impressive...plus light-up eyes!

If we could just get the Predator 1, then we'd have the HOLY TRINITY of 80's "monsters".

Now that I have my Endo, I can compare the two and I'll say this.

Hot Toys Endoskeleton - 2007 Best Figure - Technical Design

Hot Toys Aliens Warrior - 2007 Best Figure - Character Design

The Endoskeleton is impressive in it's technical design and you go wow at how detailed and true to function it is, but as an overall visual, it's basically a machine with no real character to it. The Warrior is impressive because it has an amazing level of character and life to it and it's just collectible eye candy in it's finest form.

Now that I have my Endo....

So where's the pictures? :)

Also, how about a brief review -- what's good, what's not. I know you're probably still playing with it.

Congrats on getting him early! Definitely the Aliens alien and the T2 endo are equally impressive and will be the highlight of my collection for the year 2007... which is saying alot when I consider several customs I have and items like Boushh and Asajj that really came out beautifully. But really, there is no comparison to these two.

I'm at work, not much playing, but I'm heading home now :). Can you hear the Terminator theme now.

Duh-Duh Duh Duh-Dun, Duh-Duh Duh Duh-Dun.....

I just got my Endo minutes ago, unfreaking believable!
I'm shocked at how much articulation he has. Some surprising bits is the slight articulation in the mid foot, the ankle's ability to bend slightly side to side as well as up and down, the ball jointed hips, and the waist joint that can rotate and bend forward back with the pistons on either side joined to two ball joints themselves that rotate with the movement.
Then there's those fingers, remarkable but really fragile.
It'll take some time to get a weapon in those hands.

I do have a major issue with the light up eyes, it appears that the batteries aren't making contact enough to supply power. When I take a pair of tweezers and move the batteries around a bit, the light comes on but won't stay on unless I keep them pushed in with a little force.
Does anyone have an idea on how to solve this?

When a brother freak named screamingmetal raves about an Endo, you KNOW it's great. When I first got mine the eyes wouldn't light up. Stupid me, I forgot to see there was a slide out plastic strip wedged in there. Sounds like that isn't the case with you sm, maybe ask hurricane if he has a simple solution. Sounds as if your batt cell isn't making proper contact with the contact points. Since the batteries are removeable, you may be able to readjust them and/or reestablish contact somehow?

Yeah, on the battery contact thing, maybe Screamin' can put a small wedge of folder paper or cotton to push the batteries against the contact. It probably doesn't need much more than a little bit.

Yeah, good advice WG. At least the electronic function works screaming, that's got to be a huge relief that it's not a wiring issue.

Yeah there's a little flat metal spring of sorts on the bottom that pushes the batteries together, on mine it's making no contact, the batteries just fall out when I tip it over. I've been trying to insert something to pull it up, but it's so damn cramped in the battery compartment that nothing is small enough, flat enough, and has a bit of a lip in the other direction to hook onto the small tab and pull it up.
I tried flattening a paper clip and bending it, I could just barely hook it but the metal paper clip breaks because it weekends when flattened.

I'll try using some paper to create better contact.

I fixed the contact problem, now the batteries are making full contact with the metal, and they aren't falling out like before. Mine works! :D

What I had to do was unscrew the back plate, and insert a dental pick under the tab and push up from the inside.

One thing to note when you unscrew the back, the upper body comes off away from the lower body.

Sorry to hear that SM, happens to the best of us. Adam will take good care of you I'm sure...

Now, Sean, Let's have an ENDO Pic fest Man! A Teaser Shot at least Bro....

Questions for those with the regular from wave 1; Did your box say Terminator 2 Judgement Day? And also, was there a mix of dark and light metallic tones throughout the body?

Just curious if there are any wave 2 variations.

Thanks.
I was curious about this too, I checked Ebay and there's a listing for a wave 1 Endo. Yep the box art is different, the original just says Terminator, Not Terminator 2 Judgment Day, and the Wave 1 Endo has pictures of the T-800 and Kyle Reese, mine has a couple of Endo pics in that space:

From what I can tell, this wave in the T2 box looks to be a bit of a hybrid between the BD Endo and the shiny standard Endo release months ago, it's making me glad i had/chose to wait, other than the cool skull base not being included, I think I'm scoring with this version.

It was all of 2 seconds, but the last moments of the opening to T2 was a great image.

Oh I know, it's etched in my brain, man. :lol What might be a cool gif (as if you haven't already planned for it) is three of these guys waving weapons (blaring miniguns) towards us like that Future War Sequence in T3. Which was all of like 4 seconds.

Btw, my BD box just says T 800 Indestructible Endoskeleton. The BD labeling is a stick on with imagery.
