Can't believe Thanos is shipping in less than a month! I know the dio was slated for Q4, but with talk of the light up gauntlet and e-whining over the much maligned face sculpt, I thought it would be pushed back a bit. Though I think Thanos' face has been captured more accurately in Bowens work, I like the artistic choice on the SS piece. The dio, as a whole is amazing and I can't wait to own it!

Finally ordered mine today. The light-up feature was the deal sealer. As nice as Bowen's Thanos is, there's absolutely no way I'll even consider trading this diorama for that. All we need now are those pics on the SS website next week

I really don't understand all the hate for his face. I know he has a big grin on his face but...he is the most powerful person alive, he just laid waste to the Marvel U, and made Death his Byotch! Can you think of a better reason to smile. For me, his facial expression captures the moment of this dio perfectly.
Those knee pads are a huge joke though. Those, I can't stand. What the hell does the mad Titan need knee pads for? When do we see Thanos on his knees? That makes no sense whatsoever. I'm surprised people haven't made a bigger stink about that. That is what irks me the most about this piece.

That's pretty much what I said when they put him up. The face doesn't bug me, it's nice-n-evil and actually pretty cool looking.

Thanos probably takes up about 15" of the 20" dio. The Surfer takes up about 16" of the 24" comiquette. These two pieces may not be ideal display partners, which is a shame as I have the Surfer. My thinking is that the Thanos is closer to 1/5 scale than 1/4 scale. Thoughts?
