for me the lightup feature wasn't a deal breaker as i was getting this anyways and well before the annoucement of the lightup feature.

I'm with ya quad... The lights aren't ever a factor for me with deciding on a statue. I never turn 'em on anyway (except to test when they show up).

well yeah, it would've been great to get the EX. version with the light up feature and not have the Reg version also having it.
sure would've made for an instant grail imo.
as it is now it's just ho hum with a switch out head for the lady.

the only reason i actually ordered this is for the lady anyways.

I really don't understand all the hate for his face. I know he has a big grin on his face but...he is the most powerful person alive, he just laid waste to the Marvel U, and made Death his Byotch! Can you think of a better reason to smile. For me, his facial expression captures the moment of this dio perfectly.

Those knee pads are a huge joke though. Those, I can't stand. What the hell does the mad Titan need knee pads for? When do we see Thanos on his knees? That makes no sense whatsoever. I'm surprised people haven't made a bigger stink about that. That is what irks me the most about this piece.

Wait a minute you rail on those of us you don't like the face then in the very next sentence say you hate the knee pads. Don't you think that's being a bit hypocritical? It seems that you have just as much hate for knee pads as I do for face.

I don't mind the knee pads so much because I really don't notice them but a face that is jacked up you can't help but look at. This piece has me wanting to put a paper bag over Thanos head. The main reason I hate the face is that Thanos straining too hard to smile. He reminds of some elementary school kid straining to smile for a class photo. Thanos has mostly been depicted as a sly cunning man with a slight arrogant smirk on his face and if he smiled it was a scary as hell smile that you know you were in deep S*&!t. I prefer Bowen's face.

For all the hate/indifference this piece has received I think SS have done a respectable job with their take on Thanos. This is a diorama @ 1/5th scale that lights up, with an awesome base. Personally, I think it rocks and I'm sure I can live with the face the way it is

I prefer the one to the right.

I gotta be honest...the two faces look verrrry similar to me. The biggest difference is the width of the face, but I think it has more to do with the shape of the helmet then it does the actual face sculpt.

I do like SS intrepretation though. One thing I dislike about Bowens is the god awful baby blue color he has on. SS is in royal blue & the colors just seem richer. Mistress Death EX is also far superior to Bowen by a mile.

Mistress Death looks awesome on this. I hope they make a 1/4 scale of her eventually, I think she would interest even some non-Marvel collectors.

Cheers mate. Thing is I've already paid in full for the reg. Got it for around 400 US inc shipping a couple days ago. I probably should have just gone on the EX waitlist but my DD EX is still yet to convert and Thanos sold out fairly quickly so I guess I was discouraged/skeptical about my chances for conversion...
