Cameron has made it so obvious he doesn't care about the franchise anymore. I'll never forget an interview he was in before Dark Fate was even in theaters and he more or less said "if the movie sucks don't blame him he's only a producer."
He's all about his precious Avatar sequels now.
And the director made it clear that Cameron definitely wouldn't allow certain aspects in the story. To be clear, I think Tim Miller has as good a chance at making a good Terminator movie as MCG did. Without interference. Assuming McG did not have studio interference. I could be wrong with Miller.
Love, Death & Robots was his best work, IMO. Cameron is a control freak. When it's his own baby, it turns out great. When he's the producer, it's a train wreck. I would definitely work for the guy on his crew, but if he's the producer, it's his way or "the highway." Just remembered, Cameron Produced Alita, and that was good. I want Alita 2 and 3 NOW!!!
Can't wait for Avatar 2-4 though
Honestly with the Terminator movies, it's time to let them go. I will always love T1 and T2. I respect what they tried to do with the Bale one, and that's it
Problem for me: our tech today is moving quickly, enough so that the Terminator movies seem outdated. If Skynet was real, it would just send out swarms of nano sized terminators and kills us that way. A 6' tall Terminator makes no sense now. In 1984 it did.
'Get to DA Choppa!!!!!'
And yeah, screw Dark Fate. Genisys is a better movie, and that movie was bad. (at least the alt '84 was kinda cool IMO.) But all the actors were miscast with that one.
