Yes, I'd love that too. Unfortunately though, I'm not sure it's possible. After 5 Terminator movies, we've been desensitized to the idea of a cyborg assassin that it is no longer scary just like the zombies in the walking dead.

I mean maybe it's possible but it's hard to envision such a movie.

I think it's all in the execution. I mean we've had countless horror movies featuring devil worshippers and demon possessed nut jobs and yet Hereditary comes along just last year and scared the bejesus out of everyone, lol. So I do think that old tropes can still deliver the goods...if done right.

James Cameron should have just sent the script to Terminator 6 over to the folks at A24 and said "okay what would you guys add to this" and just do whatever they say, lol.

At this rate in T7, terminator throw houses at each other. :

:lol

Arm & Eye Surgery: 2nd best scene in the whole series.

Well you have to tell us the best scene now.

By the way has Python Blue (was that the name?) gotten around to finishing the T2 soundtrack yet?

Agreed. A slasher movie featuring a gun toting robot. I'd love to see the series get back to that.

I had the exact same thought.

Any given youtube comments section on a Terminator video has people asking for a return to the horror/slasher movie feel and also people suggesting that Arnie play the villain again.

I doubt Arnie could be convincing as a villain at this point though and even if they de-aged him for the entire duration of a film I don't know what plotline would make it work. They keep making the mistake of copying T2 but I don't think copying T1 would necessarily fare any better now.

What I simply would like is either nothing at all or a film that maybe has a new kind of story that tonally feels like it fits with T1 and T2. It must feel like the same world. Stop with the ridiculous CGI action for one thing, it doesn't work.

Yeah Skynet knowing Reese is Johns father only further complicates things as you said. It always bugged me how they fail to mention them having that knowledge anyway.

I don't think John was being narcissistic in that scene, personally. Emphasizing how bad that machines have screwed his life up doesn't seem weird at all imo. I'd be pissed too.

I meant generally with the narcissism. Michael Ironside's character makes a sarcastic jab about him being the prophesied saviour of humanity or something to that effect which gives the impression that he has actually been telling people that he is meant to be their leader.

A24 and James Cameron proudly present Terminator 6: The Cyborg under the Skin, starring Scar Jo and a full length mirror, showing in glasses free 3D. Boom, done, lol.

And a-dev I didn't mean go back to Arnold hunting someone just like in T1. I meant get back to horror or slasher sci-fi. Under the Skin is actually kind of a good example of a new film that goes that route. Something with that tone (and faster paced obviously) but set in the same universe as T1 and T2.

Oh okay. I don't think he was necessarily going around telling people he was their "prophesied" leader, I think it was more because of the things he knew about skynet and the future, which obviously no one else knew. If they were to ask how he knew those things... then I'm sure he would delve into his past history and supposed future history.

You, T1 is the truest form of terminator movie

Good idea. I mean...what had me creaped out hard in that movie is the little girl that did this tongue clicking noise. Hard to believe...

:lol

T2 Chip removal. Execution is just excellent.

By the way has Python Blue (was that the name?) gotten around to finishing the T2 soundtrack yet?

Bro, don´t you think I would´ve said the slightest bit of a peep? :lol So sadly no and I got my notifications on.
So he takes his sweet time, yeah

This. All of this and...I know people are gonna cringe hard and I understand, but John Cena would make a great Terminator.
I just saw Bumblebee and there was one take of him, shot from the lower right and he didn´t flinch and just had that dark glance. It´s not this pic, but the portion was very similar:

Very good. We could go on a long time about great scenes from the first two films.

From T2 the Galleria scene of the two Terminators walking the mall searching for John. Every time I'm in a multi-storey shopping centre this is what I'm thinking of.

From T1 I love the slow mo sequence of Arnie walking through the Tech Noir nightclub with the combination of that 80's song and the ominous Fiedel soundtrack getting louder.

Hmm. I have no particular feelings about the man one way or another. Bumblebee was surprisingly decent although I still kind of tuned out during the action bits, figuring I wouldn't really be missing much.

The love for that last example is so deep with me, that I merged the bit from the soundtrack with "Burnin' in the Third Degree" ( :wink1: )
pretty successfully.

The action bits are great too, there´s even a G1 cartoon intro reference INSIDE one battle. Imagine that.

I have said NO to Cena everytime his name is brought up for a genre role but holy crap YES to Terminator Cena finally one that fits!

Sure nothing will ever beat Arnold’s creepy half monkey half human face.
