Il take Emilia's Sarah Connor over Jai Courtney as Kyle Reese, who looked and acted nothing at all like the character. I can't fathom what in the hell they were possibly thinking. Should have casted Sam Clafflin.

Yeah and the 3 punks who looked nothing like the original punks. What's wrong with this picture. Took the words out of my mouth,

I still dont understand why Terminator Salvation got horrible reviews and criticism. Till today really enjoy watching it. Genisys....I almost had to stop that movie. That was painfully bad...Salvation FTW....

How about the Throwinator. A Terminator that literally has his primary target by the neck and could kill him with a squeeze opting instead to uselessly toss him around the place.

How about John Connor being idiotic enough to tell everyone that he is the destined leader of the resistance so half of them think he's just a nutjob - as opposed to actually earning that position naturally. How about him being further idiot enough not to keep it a secret who his mother and father were - even giving this information to a machine that he believed was sent there to kill him and for all he knew could be transmitting those details back to Skynet as they spoke?

How about Skynet giving its sleeper Terminator, Marcus Wright the free will to choose the side of the resistance?

How about the mere existence of an infiltrator like Marcus Wright making T-800's kinda redundant - and yet for some reason the movie still tries to make the T-800 a big deal.

Well, that's just mediocre writing. I wouldn't call it embarrassing. By embarrassing, I'm talking T3 Elton John glasses, the TX grabbing the T800s privates, and lines like "talk to the hand", t 800 eating a bullet like a cartoon. And Genesis... there's the smile, the arrest sequence, naked hand shake, and a few other moments.

As far as the Throw minator, that's a cliche that you see in a lot of films where the strong villain just throws the hero around. Even the Predator did that. I've seen it done I monster films, super hero films, action movies... you name it. It's annoying.

How about the real intent of the movie being Skynet was there to save humanity and build resort and was misunderstood?

How about Skynet chosing the look of a cancer-ridden women from the race he wants to "save"?

How about a T-800 that now punches doors several feet with one hand, while it had a problem opening a shut steel door and T1.

This is endless... :lol

Are you taking about the scene where John and Marcus are face to face? If so how would skynet not know who John's mother was? And I thought it was established earlier in the film that Kyle Reese was on skynets "hit list", so that would imply they already know he's his father.

Nit picks aside I feel Salvation is severely underrated. Too bad we never got to see Mcg's trilogy pan out.

To me, same same.

Yeah fair enough point. Salvation didn't go for the self-parodying humour of T3 and Genisys.

It's just that it makes less sense for an unfeeling machine to be doing this. A real machine would have gone for the instant kill. At least T1 and T2 had the sense to never have a scenario where the villain Terminator literally has its primary target by the neck and no protector in the vicinity to intervene.

How about the real intent of the movie being Skynet was there to save humanity and build resort and was misunderstood?

How about Skynet chosing the look of a cancer-ridden women from the race he wants to "save"?

Was that a thing in Salvation? I've forgotten about that if that's the case.

How about a T-800 that now punches doors several feet with one hand, while it had a problem opening a shut steel door and T1.

Yep, inconsistencies like that are annoying. The T-800 became majorly overpowered.

Good point about Reese being on a Skynet hit list - although that just makes it worse - if they already know Reese is John's dad why don't they kill him on sight? Unless killing Reese would have no effect on their current timeline because John already exists in it or something but if that's the case why even bother with time travel if all you're doing is paving the way for some alternate timeline that pays you no dividends? Of course that would be a problem for the entire franchise. This is why Skynet knowing that Reese being John's dad is a problem because it raises these questions. It is best that it never knew who his father was, only his mother.

In any case it's still kinda silly how John goes on about his mother and father at all. Why does he think anyone should care? Again it just makes people think he's a narcissistic weirdo. I become the leader of the resistance because my mommy said so!

Salvation is an enjoyable film that would be even better if it were it's own unique movie and not an entry in a franchise where it rewrites established idea seemingly on a whim.

If you don't watch it looking for it to add to the mythology of the franchise, it's enjoyable, if you need it to be deeply routed with the past, then it's ugly.

Terminator Salvation is the only Terminator film that had me scared for a few seconds. The giant robot was scary, especially the sounds it made.

In The Terminator, when the T800 cuts his eyeball out with the X-Acto, that always gets me. Apart from that there is nothing really horror inducing or gore in the Terminator films imo. I consider them more Sci-Fi Action. Sometimes they even stray into comedy, well T2 and 3 did imo.

Yeah, one of the things it did well.

That´s why I always say that, especially T1, shows the true Terminator: Obstacle? Annihilate it.

Was that a thing in Salvation? I've forgotten about that if that's the case.

Yup :lol

At this rate in T7, terminator throw houses at each other. :lol

True. To this day I watch T1 and T2 SEE back to back. That´s the terminator mythos and no other movie cane even near the honor of expanding it.

Arm & Eye Surgery: 2nd best scene in the whole series.

T1 always felt like a horror sci-fi to me.

Agreed. A slasher movie featuring a gun toting robot. I'd love to see the series get back to that.

Yes, I'd love that too. Unfortunately though, I'm not sure it's possible. After 5 Terminator movies, we've been desensitized to the idea of a cyborg assassin that it is no longer scary just like the zombies in the walking dead.

I mean maybe it's possible but it's hard to envision such a movie.

Yeah Skynet knowing Reese is Johns father only further complicates things as you said. It always bugged me how they fail to mention them having that knowledge anyway.

I don't think John was being narcissistic in that scene, personally. Emphasizing how bad that machines have screwed his life up doesn't seem weird at all imo. I'd be pissed too.
