Yeah, I'm curious to see how they'll pull this off with him. I doubt we'll see him as the Goblin in this movie (pending some surprise reveal or something) but will he have what it takes to pull off the role and the action required for his character (fight scenes, etc.)? He doesn't remind me of an 'active' type. Total assumption on my part though. Should be interesting....

Well, CG and stunt doubles can take care of the action. I'm more interested in how he'll play the sinister business man, turned super-villain. I'm excited for them to build up his character over time, if that's indeed what they're doing.

We all felt the same about Tobey, and though a different character, Keaton before him.

Good point. Both rose to the occasion.

Another good point. I guess I just mean that the guy already looks older (probably the 'death bed' scenes distort that perception even more) and makes me wonder how believable he'll look/be in the role, once amped up on Goblin Formula. Then again, Dafoe pulled it off well....I don't know where I'm going with this. :lol Nonetheless, I'll remain optimistic.

You stay out of this!!!!!!

:lol :lol :lol

Dafoe was known as a buff man, homeboy was in great shape. :lol

Do you kind of see my point here? :lol I know it's not a strong one, but there's something about Cooper that I doubt, which I didn't doubt about Dafoe. Like I said, maybe it's the fact that the only pic I've seen of Cooper is (what appears to be dying) in a bed. But I can't wrap my head around him in a Goblin suit and agile *zoom zoom* here and *zoom zoom* there. He's a great actor, and I'm sure I'll like the end product, but....

Just trying to stir up conversations I guess. I'm missing the boat though....I know. :lol

Didn't Marvel essentially turn Norman Osbourne into Lex Luthor lite in recent years, following his re-animation? Now he's some incredibly powerful and wealthy, Machiavellian politician who manipulates the public into thinking he's a good guy or whatever? He doesn't necessarily need to turn into Gobby at all if they want to go that route with the character.

Ah, I see what you mean. That could be interesting actually. Wouldn't surprise me if they went that route.

Norman is the REAL Iron Patriot and Sony can't even go 'there'. Makes no sense to me either. :lol

You pointed them out as being dated and said ASM wasn't copying them. You also claimed they were bad because Maguire had his mask off a lot in that movie and ASM wouldn't be the case. All those counts wound up being wrong. There's an element, which you were/are part of, that needs to hate on the old to justify embracing the new. We saw it with Batman, we saw it with Spider-Man and to some extent, even though it's lame as **** given it's the same storyline, we're seeing it with the X-Men vs. the First Class movie.

Nah not really. You guys kept saying why is Garfields mask off so I compared it to tobey whose mask was off 90 percent of the movie. Also I would never HATE on the original I would point out some things that were not perfect about it. I never said it sucked, I never said it was bad I just said somethings that were wrong with it.

The irony was, Garfield's mask was off more in ASM, than Maguire's was in SM, and for no reason (like taking it off at the High School). Add to that, you pretty much agreed with us regarding the similarities in story after seeing it a second time. A few (not sure you were) were even praising the costume as better looking than the Raimi suit which is all but laughable given EVERYBODY is liking this suit which, save for the white eyes, is pretty much identical.

As for our calls on this one, given we were more accurate about the last than you guys were, I'd say our thoughs on this hold more weight than yours. :lol

Because it’s not being made by Marvel Studios. Every thread is filled with non stop hate unless it’s a Marvel movie.

QFT.

Yea and some of those movies were decent at best.

I think Marvel only made one great movie in my opinion, and thats Iron Man 1. The Avengers was a good summer blockbuster but I wouldn’t call it a great movie. Fox, Sony and WB have all made quality movies. Some have been a bit underwhelming and some have been really good. I don’t know why everyone wants Marvel to make everything.

:goodpost:

I like about 3-4 of the 8, the rest are just okay, imo.

I prefer a great movie be made, instead of Spiderman and Iron Man talking to each other being the only exciting thing to happen in a movie.

I too would prefer a good story than the novelty of two characters interacting just because it'd be 'cool to see'

That outfit has been commented on previously

I honestly think it's just to get the comic fans giddy, that's all

I thought that too but recently I'm thinking it might happen.

Celtic thought that. Annoyed the hell out of me. I respect and love those movies but for ****s sake they weren't the definitive spiderman movies. Not saying these are but atleast they are doing somthing new with this one. You can bash the first movie all you want but this movie looks great so far.

I never got why people assumed we hated the raimi films for pointing out there flaws.

Since Celtic "left" there's been almost no mentions of Raimi :lol

Now if only some others could leave there'd be considerably less hate in this section.

I want to see more of Chris Coopers Norman. That last trailer made me really excited for his role. I'm really hoping for good things from him.

Me too, can't wait to see him develop.

Yeah he basically killed the Skrull leader in Secret Invasion and was a world hero, he then former a new SHIELD and Dark Avengers and Dark X-Men and then tried to destroy Asgard.

He basically tried to monopolise the world disguised as a good guy.
