Heard Webb took out out scenes what you see in the trailer isn't what you see in the movie.

There is a shot in the trailer which shows Peter crying/screaming after Gwen has died. I loved that shot - the emotion was incredible.
They have cut it out of the finished film.

I watched this last night with a group of friends and really loved it!.
After being really disappointed with the TASM we all went in with low expectations, but all ended up leaving grinning from ear to ear. For me they have captured Spidey brilliantly, down to his moves and wise cracks Its easily my favourite of all the spidey films so far, and I can't wait to own this on blu ray.

he catches her with a very long web but the catch appears to break her neck but the film does not make it clear at all. You think he has actually saved her ... Then she's dead...but it never says how.

I think fans of the comic will know but none comic book readers like me - won't know. I just happened to Wikipedia it after the film otherwise I wouldn't have really picked up on the whole neck break. It sounds daft but you really can't tell what's killed her in the film.

As a comic fan
You are never sure either. Remember the scene in the first Raimi film where Green Goblin has MJ on the bridge and drops her and the thing full of kids at the same time? It's very similar to that. And the twist is that you are never told if she was dead when Goblin dropped her, or if Pete killed her when he hit her with the web. Her neck is broken in the comic too. Writer's play with it all the time, but no one has said definitively who killed her. Pete blames Norman and himself.

Hope that helps a little.

Now y'see I'd disagree with that, and here's why...

In the comic it was always a question as to whether Pete killed Gwen or the Goblin, to some degree anyway, but to the readers we obviously knew because of the 'snap' sound effect - I can't remember if this was in the original issue, I have the issue of the Death of the Green Goblin so that's no good right now.

But in the movie, they substitue the 'snap' for Gwen smashing the back of her head on the ground as she arches back from the web catching her. It seemed pretty obvious that something bad had happened. The way Marc Webb has done it is that the web catches her whilsts she is about 2 feet away from the ground or so. Kind of a last minute 'save'. Either way, however, she was a goner because if the web didn't get her then the fall would have

Spoilers aside, I wasn't too blown away by it. I'm one of the few who liked TASM and it's tone/direction. Whilst I'm all for an upbeat comicy comic movie, this was a bit too much. Scott Pilgrim is my go-too colourful comic book film, whereas TASM2 feels like a step back.

It wasn't a bad film, just too dis-jointed. I also got really tired of seeing Peter Parkers room.

Unlike CA:TWS, I wouldn't watch this again

Shame really cuz I wanted to really like it and be excited for future movies and the 'shared universe'

Oh, and a slight bug bear...

I really wish that Gwen's fate had been at the hands of the true Goblin and at the Brooklyn Bridge. It's just such an iconic setting. Instead, we get this clocktower which just feels like set of a make-believe location in NY. As does the Power Plant. KInda like Doc Ock's lair in SM2

Saw this today.

8.5/10 for me.

I loved Harry Osborn and Electro, though I didn't like Dillon as it was too cheesy imo. Peter and Gwen and Aunt May were also great and even though he only has two scenes Rhino was awesome, very hammy but so much fun.

There was a lot of comedy and for the most part it was funny. Thankfully none of that jokes after the drama that trips up some movies.

Peters ringtone was brilliant, you'll love it.

Visually all of the villains looked great. Electros visuals were spectacular and Harry as goblin looked 10x better in motion. The rhino mech also looked great especially the charge.

All of the action was great and I loved how unlike most Superhero movies the hero frequently saves the people

Is Garfield playing a more likeable Peter? I really didn't like Pete in ASM.

Saw this last night. Solid 8.5/10 for me. Great pieces of comedy and fantastic performances by Garfield, Stone, DeHann and Foxx. Sally Field was great for the parts she was in also. Didn't like the Rhino or Max Dillon though. Overall I really enjoyed the movie.

Yeah the clock tower and power plant were really unbelievable settings.
Amazing really how its sub title is "Rise of Elecrto" and he really hasn't got anything to do with anything.
The villain should have just been Harry.
