Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

Or because the movie was good. Kinda like the first Iron Man. It made money because it was good. Not who was in it.

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

July 3rd is a tuesday. Wonder if the release date will get pushed back or forward, or if they wanna make money before the biggest weekend in movies.

Smart move Sony, Smart move. -_-

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

So I feel compelled to ask, who would win in a fight?

Spiderman or Batman!!!!!!???????

LOL, I am outta here until the movie hits!

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

So anyway I'm liking the lizards look it's very menacing.

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

Latest trailer on this looks to have a lot of potential. I really like the scene where Spidey was in the car talking smuck to the criminal..really show his character in the comics.

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

To change the subject.

I love the suit. (well love may be a tad strong) I really dig it. (sans shoes) Seems that there are more folks out there like myself as well.

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

Just saw the second trailer and am I the only one who hates it?first off the costume is horrible,it looks more like spiderman 2099 and the one thing I can't get over is those ridiculas web slingers.cmon, you expct me to believe a 16 year old kid who is hard up for money invents this super strong super thin string?that might work in a comic book in 1960 but I don't buy it.I thought the original spiderman and pt 2 were almost 0perfect.granted it jumped the shark with #3 but they.should have kept going.how many times are they gonna tell spideys origin?I want something new.

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

I agree about the web shooters. They seem way too high tech even for a genius like Peter Parker.

I know his father's work has something to do with it but that makes it even more implausible and coincidental. It's not so much the web shooters in general (I think their inclusion is a great idea, nice change from organic webbing) but the way they appear. It looks too complicated. I mean it has LED lights and electronic laser sightings? I wish they went for a more mechanical approach, these just seem way too silly. Ironically, the web shooters were my favorite part of the suit in these promotional shots (and by now I've made it clear how much I dislike the suit), I liked the rumors that he gutted out a watch and made his own web shooters. But now that we've seen them in action in the trailer, man, it's just way too far fetched.

If people had a problem with Peter making his Spider-Man suit in the last film series how do they feel about these high-tech web shooters and the complex suit? You can't just say "oh, everything comes from Oscorp and/or Peter's dad invented it".

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

:dunno

No need to play mental gymnastics. I try not to over-think such things. I think they look cool as shyyt, ends there for me. But to each their own.

But that's exactly what they're going to do, over explain how he gets his stuff.

I'm all for "show and don't tell", trust me, but these web shooters are crazy. I mean lights and effects as he's shooting them? Why not just keep it simple and streamlined with pump action, mechanical cartridges?

I agree with this, although I didn't hate the trailer. I thought it was entertaining and well edited. Like others, my favorite scene was the carjacker sequence. I love how Garfield can emote through the mask in that scene and it irks me to see him maskless so often still. But trailer quality means nothing and is not getting my hopes up. SM3 had an amazing trailer and that movie sucked. I agree, if they wanted a new cast and crew that's fine, but why start over? Let's keep going with some new stories!

Hey Nightwing, why don't you change your name to Spider-Girl or some sidekick of Spidey's if you're gonna rag on Batman in here the whole time? And when you decide you're gonna end the argument you started, you accuse others for trolling for pointing out you PERPETUATED the whole thing for so long??? It's like you've got an inferiority complex and the only way you can defend this movie from skeptics is to attack Batman.

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

i love everything i have seen so far, its looks better than the way i have imagined spiderman in a movie , Raimis spiderman though true to the comics in the setting and costume didnt exactly cut it for me , i liked spiderman 2 but apart from that , all the slinging and action was a little meh for me , i loved the way spidey was shown in the ultimate universe, it certainly would appeal more to the kids these days and these movie and design and settings are made with that in mind, as a matter of fact, i think this is gonna rake in more than TDKR , globally just because it will appeal more to the kids, just my opinion though..
