I have no idea what the tone of this new version is but from the few stills I've seen it looked like they were going a more realistic route than Raimi did. Not to Nolan levels, but still... maybe too 'real' for a comic book character in red and blue tights.
The only thing that could be considered realistic is the webbing, but that doesn't make much sense, and probably couldn't be done in real life. But it's also from the comics, so it's not a new idea. Just new to the film world.

This is one of those characters that Nolan would have steered away from, realizing its too hard to make it believeable.
Realistically while I like the Nolan Batmans I'm sick of everything trying to mimic it.
