Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

Have you read Spidey comics before Venom was introduced? I ask because any self respecting Spidey fan knows Venom is not the be all and end all of Spidey villains.

I'd personally prefer to see Mysterio, Scorpion, Kraven, Vulture, Rhino, Shocker, Elektro etc first. Venom had his chance. Hell I'd rather see Doc Oc and Green Goblin again before Venom. I'd love to see Kingpin also.

Of course I have but what's wrong with venom being my favorite ? Rhino would be great as like a secondary thug. Electro could work and so could myserio and gg. I just want to see venom on screen and treated proper. No other villain ____ed with spidey like he did. Well... Besides gg for killing Gwen .

Honestly, Venom out of the park would be a ____ing mistake. As we saw with Spider-Man 3, trying to cram him into a single movie doesn't work. He's a character that needs to be built up to, to be done correctly. Having Parker wear the suit first, and then ditching it, introducing the Brock character and having him get outed by Parker all adds to the depth of how threatening Venom really is. Cramming it all into a single movie waists the potential a character like that has.

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

Venom needs to be done 3-4 movies down the line.

You can't blow your wad on the most popular character. :lol

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

No! Not until venom gets a proper moment on screen then they can go crazy. Venom didn't even get a chance really. He just was lurking around and screeching the whole fight.

o_O???? USM for the most part has been a better read than AMZ. Despite the changes to some of the characters and Peter dying, its still a damn good book series. Venoms my favorite just like you, but I really think they may skip him and do carnage or not use symbiotes at all. I really want to see spiderman fight electro and scorpion though.

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

The most important film of all time is coming out in a month. If I don't pay respects to it, then I'm a horrible fanboy. :(

Good idea. Thats what those idiots incharge of spidey 3 should have done. Leave venom for a cliffhanger. The black suit should have been in the whole film and not in there for like 5 minutes. Brock should have been introduced in the second movie giving him character development and backstory. I hope one day we get a good representation soon.

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

^ But you fans wanted Venom. And you got what you wanted.

So, you guys ruined Spider-Man 3.

at first when I saw a trailer and didnt know much about Spiderman 3, I was convinced they were going to do that, for some reason I got the idea that Venom was going to appear near the end of the movie, that maybe Venom would be used for Spiderman 4 or something, I never thought they were going to be as dumb and mentally deranged as to make what they made,
that was before i knew anything about the movie, and before I knew they were only making part 3 or anything, I didnt really knew anything about it,

Dude Celtic did you read what I said. I wanted venom yes , but I also wish they would have saved him for 4 instead of showing him and killing him. Wow gtfo with fans ruining spiderman. That movie would have failed to begin with. Vulture and sandman ? Really ? Sandman killing uncle Ben ? Those dance numbers.

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

Dance scenes came from Venom. Vulture was fine. Just accept that you guys got what you wanted, and made the movie terrible. :lol

So your telling me venom ruined the whole movie ? No poor directing did my friend .

Maguire Interviews Garfield About The Amazing Spider-Man

VMan magazine has published a really interesting article in which former "Spider-Man" franchise star Tobey Maguire interviews The Amazing Spider-Man star Andrew Garfield about taking over the role this July 3rd. Here are a few excerpts, but you can check out the full interview here and here.
TM What was the process? How did you end up being the guy?
AG It was pretty basic, apart from it being more dragged out and pressure-filled and dramatic than any other audition process I've ever been through. They like to put you through the ringer, in the respect that it creates drama and tension among a generation of actors.
TM Yeah, I completely understand. What kind of effect has this had on you?
AG The main thing I'm thinking about and worrying about is what happens after this movie comes out. What was your experience when you became Spider-Man in people's eyes? I'm interested to hear what you have to say about the whole life change that it brings. Because right now I have a host of fears that I'm contending with on a minute-to-minute basis. I'm not in the reality of it yet, so I'm sure I'm imagining it will be much worse than it is. I admire you so much because you're an actor and that's all you've ever been and all you ever will be. It must be very hard to hold on to the simple fact of wanting to be an actor, to tell stories and not have your image become bigger than your art. Do you have a recollection of a definite change, or was it a seamless thing?
TM I think our thing was a little bit different because movies hadn't been doing the sort of opening-weekend business that's fairly common—even expected—today. The first Harry Potter came out about six months before us and it was this phenom- enon from Day one. it was so wild because it was a new thing at that moment—and i'm not saying that hasn't happened in movie history, but at the time that was a big jump. and then that happened with us. People didn't anticipate [2002's Spider- Man] to be like that. Leading up to it you start to get reactions and people tell you, you know, what the tracking is and what range your opening weekend box office is likely to be. but for me it was kind of unexpected. So much shifted in my life the weekend the movie came out. it was shocking.
AG Right. I just feel such a great responsibility to the story and to the fans, because I know in my heart how much this character means to people, because it means that much to me. For the sake of all the people who care about it as much as I do—I want to bring the character to life and make sure they're as satisfied as they can possibly be.
TM That's very cool. A lot of what you've been talking about, the connectivity between you and the story and the fans, it seems like you have a great respect for the character.
AG Very much so. Peter Parker is such a positive character—he's pure wish fulfillment, an underdog. I grew so much from him when I was a kid, from the comics all the way up to the first movie you were in. I was 19 when I saw [Spider-Man]. I got a pirated dvd at portobello Market with my friend Terry Mcguiness, and we went back to my skanky apartment in North London and we watched it twice in a row and then practiced your final line in the mirror!
TM [Laughs]
AG Terry has this thick accent and every time I would recite that line he would laugh this very distinct laugh and say, "No, man, you could never be _____ing Spider-Man. You'll never be _____ing Spider-Man!" I was so humiliated and upset. But, um..._____ you, Terry!
TM [Laughs]
The Amazing Spider-Man also stars Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Denis Leary, Campbell Scott, Irrfan Khan, Martin Sheen and Sally Field.

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

Nope. Venom indeed ruined the film.

And the directing was fine, it was the writing that was terrible.

Raimi and Co wrote a script. Finished it. And was forced to add Venom, and all that stupid crap with it. Hence, Spider-Man 3.
