Re: Spider-Man: The Reboot!

I'll reserve judgment but IMO that is a terrible teaser pic.

Looks like a kid sulking about how he got his ass kicked at a Halloween party. And pissed himself in the process. Not heroic looking at all. Just dark and moody. Yawn.

That said, the full costume could be cool looking and I do like how lean he is. If you're going to reboot it's good to go in a different direction.

I just don't know why the first pic they'd release would make the hero look utterly defeated.

You know how many times Tobey cryed tears in Raimi's franchise? Spiderman crying over and over again like a child. Or when he gave up completely and threw his costume in the garabge.

Also Mary Jane and Spidey cant be togeather because she maybe in danger for dating him.

Advantage : Sex with Mary Jane = 0

Disadvantage : MJ Kidnapped = 4 (yes she was kidnapped 4 times in 3 movies)

Looks like that ____s not working out bro, may as well get laid for all your hard work.

Re: Spider-Man: The Reboot!

Ah...Raimites versus Webbheads. Just like the Burtonites versus the Nolanians and the upcoming Donneroans versus the Singerites. Gonna be an interesting time on the boards...

Well I haven't read a Spiderman comic since I was like 5 or 6 maybe so I honestly don't know what Spiderman should be, but I know he probably shouldn't be a 35 year old virgin that crys.

Re: Spider-Man: The Reboot!

Personally, I would've gone with the new Tron costume for Spidey.

...okay, not really, but I *do* like the new costume, with the caveat that it's not permanent.

Re: Spider-Man: The Reboot!

And that's not even a new thing. I think 45 out of the first 50 issues of ASM ended with a panel of Peter sulking in some fashion.
He was created as a character readers (young boys) could really relate to, which is a big part of his charm. Plus, when he was a teenager, it is realistic to have him moody all the time. I don't want to see melodrama with this movie, but Peter Parker is supposed to be a conflicted kid with shaky self-confidence. He was originally a nerd that gets picked on for Christ sake. Probably as iconic a cover as any for Spidey is this:

Beyond that, he is as much a hero as any other character when push comes to shove, but he doesn't always wear that part of himself on his sleeve like a Superman or Captain America would. The heroic "perched on a gargoyle" look isn't really what Spiderman is about.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS143 - Spider-Man 3 official specs and pics

It really does look like basketball. Maybe that is the explanation of how he could make the suit himself. Cut up basketballs and motocross gloves he bought at Academy Sports.

Let me catch you up.

Spidey: I'm a hero, FML my job sucks, insert smartass comment here, FML this stuff is expensive, insert smartass comment here, being a hero is expensive, insert smartass comment here, FML my boss hates my alter-ego, insert smartass comment here, FML my love life sucks, insert smartass comment here, FML I save people but they don't love me like they do Steve Rogers or Tony Stark, insert smartass comment here.

Catch the drift? There is a lot of angst. Now it gets molded down a bit the older he gets but its still there. If this does take place in High School then Andrew should be off in a funk every few seconds ala every other teenager in America.

Quite true. I don't know why people have a problem with his crying scenes...he goes through a lot of ____, fights the villans, tries to protect his identity, keeps his girlfriend happy, he's got an old aunt to worry about, his uncle's death...bloody hell and and I forgot hes a damn teenager....when I was a teenager I was playing video games and watching porn....this guy is doing what other older superheros are doing...plus one of the scenes shown in the youtube clip was of him getting dumped by mary jane...for gods sake anyone would cry if they got dumped by the girl of their dreams....

Re: Spider-Man: The Reboot!

Depends. If the girl of my dreams was Dunst, I'd thank the Lord and get my ass to a psychologist

Re: Spider-Man: The Reboot!

I dumped the girl of my dreams, and why'll I've often regretted it, I've never cryed.

The problem isn't that he cryed, its that he cryed 3-4 times in that movie alone. That was just SM3, he crys in 1 and 2 as well.

Now if he had been with Gwen and she actually died as a result of him being Spiderman, I could see him crying and it being a great scene. But looking Dunst in her lazy heroine eyes and knowing he's never even had sex with her but now he's crying. Ask the ladies here if they want to be with that guy. The guy whos never even had sex with you but is already crying to your face that you don't want to be with him. Somehow I doubt that gets them wet.

Sorry but were over...
But I'm crying...
Damn thats hot, screw it lets make love right here in central park.

:exactly:

I always thought she looked like a strung out ____ing heroine addict in 2 & 3 :google
