Re: Spider-Man: The Reboot!
This was on MTV's website today.
Over the last few months, we've seen plenty of photos and video from set of Sony's "Spider-Man" reboot, including some footage of Spider-Man swinging through traffic, and a nice look at Spider-Man's new costume in motion. Today, we have another pair of photos for you, and you're going to want to take a very close look at both of them.
Taken on the Los Angeles set of the film, the two photos depict a stunt sequence in which Spider-Man vaults over a car to tackle, flip, and subdue a character in a black jacket (as only a spider can).
But here's the kicker: Take a close look at the car behind Spider-Man and the black-jacketed combatant. Don't see anything? How about in the back seat of the car?
Here's how the photographer who took these photos described the scene being filmed:
"The Spider Man Reboot films a scene involving a car burglar and two Spider-Man's which both appear on camera. In the scene, Andrew Garfield in character as Spider-Man is hiding in the back seat of a car that a car burglar attempts to steal. The spooked thief exits the car to escape but is taken down by a second Spider-Man as Spider-Man number one (Garfield) watches the action through the backseat window. Both Spider man's were also seen rehearsing a stunt together while covered in trench coats."
Two Spider-Men? Well, that certainly gets the ol' Spidey Sense tingling...
Honestly, I'm at a bit of a loss when it comes to speculating on what this could mean for the film's plot. Of course, this isn't an official synopsis of the scene, so there's a very good chance that the multiple-Spidey scenario described above isn't actually part of the film.
But what if it is?
Let the speculation ensue, True Believers!
