Re: Spider-Man: The Reboot!

Are you solely referring to the suit?
Mainly the suit and other things. The suit is a major mishap to me and I am not very confident on his choice of actors. To be honest, Garfield is a little to 'pretty' for Peter Parker. PP has always been the awkward geeky genius but so far, Garfield looks more like the emo Edward Cullen loner.

Also, Spiderman is supposed to be in New York but those pics look more like LA to me. *Shudders at memories of the old Spidey TV movie that was shot in LA* Where are all the tall buildings and major skyscrapers?

I was watching some Raimi movies recently and while his writing ain't the best but his visual style is definitely in a class of its own. He basically laid the blueprint for the web swinging shots that every other Spidey movies after him will have no choice but to emulate.

If only he were given free reign on Spidey 4, we wouldn't have to deal with this farce. Raimi already laid the backbone for a Lizard storyline but no, Sony wanted a Vulture and a Vultress. I am glad Raimi has the balls to walk out of it. He was really miserable after the experience in Spiderman 3, which was basically a giant toy commercial.

Re: Spider-Man: The Reboot!

I agree with a lot of your sentiments. Free reign for spidey 4 for starters.

But I really cannot understand a lot of peoples here hatred for the suit. We know this film is based on USM and I fail to see how a live action version of that kind of suit could look any better? Spidey 2 suit is perfect but, to me, this looks great for what it is.

Re: Spider-Man: The Reboot!

I just want to see Spidey swinging in 3D. :rock

I wonder how many 3D web shooting shots are we going to see :lol

I wouldn't expect too much in your face 3D shots, or any popping out effect. have you seen the recent 3D action movies, they are pretty blah.
I would be surprised if this movie has Spiderman swing out and in our faces.

Re: Spider-Man: The Reboot!

I sincerely hope there aren't any off the screen 3D effects. People don't know how to handle them, everyone feels the need to scream, or duck, or whatever. I much prefer the layered 3D effect and I think its going to be pretty awesome to see the webslinging like that. I'm definitely hoping for a few shots of that from Spider-Man's viewpoint.

Re: Spider-Man: The Reboot!

Wrong it's a huge deal. I'm notifying the internetz police.

(anyone else having trouble using smiles?)

Same here. I have to type them all in (which I usually do anyway). Weird. Thought it was just me. :dunno

Yep. I have that one too. Also try clicking on "Community" at the top of the page. Does anything happen?

thing is, ultimate spidey had the same costume as the normal spidey, except the villains costumes and the backstory was different

Re: Spider-Man: The Reboot!

USM was the basis for it simply because it put Spidey's origin in modern times instead of back in 1962. It wasn't a carbon copy of the USM storylines and in fact other than the fact the film takes place in modern time we don't know if anything else was even copied.
