Actually it is. There are a lot of things in that film that are not "spoon fed to the audience" and if your not watching closely you will miss them.

Everything in The Avengers is clear and cur. Does that make one "better" then the other? Not really. Both are great for different reasons.

Oh, and bashing Void for identifing with the stories while really calling him a nerd is lame.
