Give me a break!

I've read profanity and insults here that never get removed or censored.

There was no profanity in my post. No anger. Just observation.
You're just displaying mod favoritism.
And committing censorship.
Well you will get censored if you toss out overly offensive, lewd comments like that, which is worse than simple profanity in my eyes. But I don't care who uses it against whom, it ain't appropriate. So. . .like I said, reign that in if you please. If you want to continue the discussion further, feel free to send me a PM.

If Ledger wasnt in the Dark Knight that movie would have sucked soooo bad. Its so pretentious and boring. It wants to feel deep and introspective but has no real substance... At least Avengers didnt took itself seriously.

:dunno

This makes as much sense as "If RDJ wasn't in the Avengers it would suck soooo bad."

There two different flicks.

BB rules and it didn't have Ledger, Thor ruled and it didn't have Iron Man.

Your logic makes no sense to me.

As a Batman movie, I actually prefer Batman Begins. Ledger was great, but he overshadowed Bale. Batman almost felt like a costar who did a lot of stuff, but TDK is not the Batman focused character piece that BB is. You spent less time in Bruce's head, and everything else in the movie felt less electric and unpredictable whenever Ledger wasn't on the screen. Everybody else just stood back and let Ledger run away with the movie. I hope that the last one really keeps Bruce/Batman front and center.

I am trying to see the logic here.. why are you equating RDJ with Ledger?

Agreed for the most part. With TDK it was almost a given that the Joker would overshadow Batman. I mean, the same thing happened in 1989 Batman, no?

It's the character (Joker). It's simply expected and also smart to have left the joker for the second film. The layout has been precise thus far imo. I think most of us expect TDKR to revert back to its original roots. Batman Begins. At least I hope so.

Well I think that RDJ was the most charismatic actor, and really the most central character in the Avengers, just like Ledger was the equivalent in Dark Knight. But I don't think RDJ dominated Avengers to nearly the extent that Ledger took over TDK.

This is kinda what I'm trying to say, sorry. Triple shift at worked whooped my ass today. :lol

Sideshow Freaks Forum should do a live Pay Per View event of this ongoing feud.

At least profit from it. :lol

. Nolan and Raimi INVENTED the true superhero flick, yo. (Special mention to Jon Favreau and James Gunn.) Happy to be in the mix.

YER DAMN RIGHT JOSS. Suck it Raimi bashers. :lol

Saw "Avengers" last night. Really enjoyed it. I like TDK more though. In fact, I enjoyed "Thor" more than "Avengers."

Let’s look at the bigger picture, and I can’t say this enough: THIS IS NOT A ZERO SUM GAME. Our successes, whoever has the mostest, are a boon to each other. We’re in the business of proving that superhero movies aren’t just eye-candy (they’re eye-TRUFFLES!). People seem intent on setting us against each other, and though I’m proud to be Woody Strode to Nolan’s Kirk Douglas, I think they’re missing the point. Whatever TDKR does on its first weekend, the only stat that matters to me is the ticket I’M definitely buying. Nolan and Raimi INVENTED the true superhero flick, yo. (Special mention to Jon Favreau and James Gunn.) Happy to be in the mix.

Wow! Mad respect to Joss after reading this, guy's got class.

Yep, class and humility right there. And a good way to shut up both "sides" of insufferable fanboys.

Is like to see Nolan say something similar. His acolytes are among the most fermented. He has the class, but I'm not sure he has the humility or modesty to make a statement like Whedon's.

He's too busy working on Bane's voice. :rotfl

Actually, he did fail to give props to Richard Donner, who certainly did more for the genre than James Gunn (WTF is he doing on that list anyway??). :lecture
