Re: The Batman film directed by Matt Reeves...again

The Hollywood Reporter are usually pretty dialed in. I doubt they're pulling this out of thin air. People can bury their heads in the sand all they like, but when BvS was torn apart by critics it made Affleck leaving a very real possibility. He doesn't want to be associated with crap movies. He did that plenty earlier in his career, but worked hard to really change that, and turned himself into a respected director, and actor with films like Gone Baby Gone, Argo, and The Town. BvS took him right back to those earlier days. Granted, most people/critics liked Affleck's Batman, but it doesn't matter. It was a crap movie, and he no doubt took the critical beating it got pretty hard.

One thing to note this can all change with JL success at the box office can change this whole thing. I personally likes his performance but I see were the audience had trouble with BvS its not easy to follow nor does the script have a clear message . I am hoping JL is great and they can puss through with producing that by 2019 and then go with a new batman movie

Yup if JL is a success then everyone is safe but Affleck might still want to walk anyways and leave on a high note.

Then everyone congratulates WW/Whedon for saving Affleck lol.

Re: The Batman film directed by Matt Reeves...again

I wonder what ben affleck feels like about having the nightmare of daredevil a decade ago and then having this brand new nightmare all over again....

Re: The Batman film directed by Matt Reeves...again

JL will be a hit. People will flock to see the new movie with WW in it.
Critically? Who knows. If the critics like it, it'll be because Whedon saved it, if they hate it, it'll be because Snyder left too much of a mess to be salvageable.
I hope Affleck stays, he's the best Batman/Bruce Wayne, and I really want to see his take in a critically successful Batman movie.

Re: The Batman film directed by Matt Reeves...again

The thing I don't get is WB allegedly wanting to address it in a movie. I would think they'd just simply recast, and move on. Addressing it in a movie would make you think they're going to kill him off, and someone else will take his place, but where does that leave Reeves' Batman? I can't imagine he'd want to do a Batman movie where it isn't Bruce Wayne under the cowl.

Re: The Batman film directed by Matt Reeves...again

Maybe BatDick.

Or, even better yet, Batman dies and everything gets rebooted, it'll be like the reboot Final Crisis was supposed to be.

Re: The Batman film directed by Matt Reeves...again

They could sayd dum dum DUMMMMM Affleck is actually Thomas Wayne and he is the killing Flashpoint Batman.

Re: The Batman film directed by Matt Reeves...again

Whatever it is I seriously do NOT want him to depart the series especially since a movie can turn the whole thing around for him and WB.

WW already did her part now lets hope Whedon gets it back on track even more.

Affleck is a great Wayne AND Batman he just needs more to chew on, nuff said.

Re: The Batman film directed by Matt Reeves...again

No longer just a rumor, the guy who runs Batman News seldom posts anything that hasn't a solid foundation.

https://batman-news.com/2017/07/21/...d-warner-bros-wants-to-address-it-in-a-movie/

Could end up staying or leaving, but I do buy that Batfleck's future is uncertain atm.

Can't speak on the reliability of Batman news, but it's literally just an article of them quoting nonsense from Hollywood reporter.

At this rate maybe I'll just start my own rumors.

Guys an "unconfirmed source" told me Jason Momoa is gunna be the next Batman. He said aquaman is lame. Pass it along.

Re: The Batman film directed by Matt Reeves...again

WB really has no luck lol.

I bet while the world celebrates the success of WW their investors are like:

Let us get this straight success at Disney means billions, not a billion, but billions while success for us here at WB = WW at 780 million.

Why is our success different than Disney's success lol

Again, Batman News guy seldom parrots something from an unreliable source, I can't remember the last time they were wrong, because they don't bank on clickbait rumors like most geek sites.

They didn't parrot the WW doomsayers, They didn't parrot BvS negative buzz, etc etc, they're notoriously pro-DCEU.

Like I said, at the end of the day, the whole thing will probably end on "yeah he's gonna be Batman after all" but I believe there's motive for uncertainty, there's a reason Affleck leaving has been the single most resilient rumor since the release of BvS.

Re: The Batman film directed by Matt Reeves...again

I dont trust anything HR puts out. Thats fine if Batman news reports it, can't blame them, but i doubt this HR source is reliable.

Re: The Batman film directed by Matt Reeves...again

Seems worrisome, they can't leak a rumours from a thin air. There is some indication that lead to it. I remembered Andrew Gardfield will depart from Spiderman as well.

Re: The Batman film directed by Matt Reeves...again

Wut...

BvS disaster.

Yes it was tragic his daughter died but then he decided to work "thru it" for months only to then later walk away, c'mon.

Affleck quitting as director

Affleck script being tossed away.

Affleck directed movie bombing.

WB hiring the new guy only to witness his ape masterpiece bomb.

Whedon massive reshoots.

They're so lucky that WW was a hit and even then still won't break a billion lol.

Massive reshoots? They did not reshoot a damn thing. They've done additional footage. You are twisting facts into a another pile of horse ****.
