If Keaton returned after 30 years, then anything is possible. Maybe Bale and Nolan will be back one day. Will people care about them returning without Joker tho? I don't know.

For some reason no one can get Robin right. He is the mirror to Bruce and a great mentorship story. Schumacher just ruined that angle, but it should be revisited. He doesn't have to get in the fight, but be a great companion piece to accomplishing goals. I've been watching Burn Notice lately, and a great team in scouting, providing a distraction and effectively outmatching opponents is what I imagine a Robin doing. His evolution to Nightwing is a great story in itself. I hate to say this, but on screen, Burt Ward has been the best Robin by far.

Holy bold posts, Matticus!!!

That's why I was thinking a whole new take on Robin in a series... and have him trying to protect the mantle Batman left behind in his own way. He could be flawed and frustrated and out of his element... and be a more sympathetic character, and one who's more at risk, then fans would ever allow Batman to be.

Since no one is too Robin-centric, it allows more variation to explore Robin and reinvent him. He could become a very interesting character.

Unfortunately, no one has fully committed to those worlds. They walk the line of fantasy and realism without going all the way in one way or the other.
Burton wanted a normal guy as Batman. And of course the suit started the all black rubber trend that made its way into the Nolan films. Nolan on the other hand kept some fantasy elements in all of his films, despite the grounded approach he took in his trilogy. Both versions also had technical limitations that made Batman more grounded, so he couldn't move like an actual super hero.

The only film to go all the way was Joker, but no Batman film so far has truly embrace that level of real world or fantasy.

The DCEU Batman tried, but unfortunately they chose the wrong comics to influence the movies and Batman never got his own film. Regardless, the Snyderverse looks ugly. The costumes got progressively uglier too.

A gothic city, with 1940s fashion, modern technology, some artdeco and crazy ass villains in their classic costumes , supernatural villains, and agile and athletic prime Batman in his classic dark blue and grey costume would be my ideal Batman. Robin too, without the green shorts and exposed legs. That's too much. 🤭
I agree with what you would like to see on film. Batman in blue grey outfit would be a nice change. Burton universe is still my favorite take overall but I liked Nolan's movies in order of release. Begins was a great star with some fantasy elements in it.

Dunno , this board may be the only place where the Nolan films are panned.

I loved each one.

certainly miles better than Burton’s silliness.

I won’t even get into how miscast Batfleck was.

Wor-Gar is leading the charge on that. I think he might hate all films to be honest. :lol
Wor-Gar likes a lot movies. I know Raiders Of The Lost Ark and Die Hard are some he likes. Difabio is the real film critic on this board when he shows up. Khev and Jye are the fan boys and Zurdo Larson is the ultimate "actor" in disguise on the board.
