A gothic city, with 1940s fashion, modern technology, some artdeco and crazy ass villains in their classic costumes , supernatural villains, and agile and athletic prime Batman in his classic dark blue and grey costume would be my ideal Batman. Robin too, without the green shorts and exposed legs. That's too much. 🤭
Would be good to see. The filmmakers would have to commit to it fully and not compromise on their vision.

Currently watching Batman Begins. Such a great film! The best 'Batman' film of the Nolan trilogy. :clap

The sequence where the Tumbler is tearing through Gotham City makes it the best movie in the Dark Knight Trilogy.......:)

It has the best looking Gotham and best Batman suit IMO.

Scarecrow an underrated villain too. He just gets lost within the wider plot towards the end.

I like how it starts with Bruce in a third world prison. The layered storytelling with time is a great approach.

There was a lot of great stuff in begins, cillian Murphy was just an afterthought in the sequel. The end when Gordon shows him the playing card and batman says "I'll look into it" was very cool.

I also liked the fight with 'ras Al ghul': "Your parents' death was not your fault. It was your father's."

Batman Begins is astoundingly great, and vastly influential to me. It's a masterwork. It remains one of my most favorite films ever. Can't say enough good things about it.

Indeed. For me it's gets better each time I watch it - if that's even a thing. 😄 Begins and TDK are a superb double act.

I force myself to watch TDKR each year in the hope I can fully appreciate it as part of the trilogy but it never works unfortunately. Funny how many times I've watched it. :lol

I only watched it twice. That movie is a joke. I remember people on here defended it like it was the second coming of cinema.
I could write an essay on how they disrespected Robin and made catwoman just some generic thief but I don’t want to.

everything about that movie is just lazy down to the horrible poster

Would be interested to know what Nolan had planned for the 3rd film if Ledger had still been alive. I may be wrong but I think he said he never had a plan - that may be the case but he must have had ideas.

I'm sure he had some ideas. I like TDKR and think it was a good ending for the trilogy. It ties it with the first film and we even see some references to the sequel. It's got some flaws, but I like the action in it, the overall scale of the story and Bruce's happy ending, which bothered so any people, but I loved that he overcame everything. I just wish they had included a Joker cameo, since even Liam Neeson came back as a ghost. The Scarecrow's cameo while cool, because it was a reference to him being in court in BB, it should have been Joker's instead, imo. Or maybe Joker could've had a quick nightmare cameo like Ras. Anything instead of nothing.

Had Ledger not died, it would have been interesting to see him again, but I can't even imagine how they could have used him effectively again. He went to prison or Arkham at the end of TDK. Does he escape? Then what, he does the same stuff he did in TDK, but on a larger scale? Maybe Bane and Joker team up? Maybe Batman and Joker team up? :lol I'd love to know what the Nolan bros or even Goyer had in mind for a third film. Nicholson never got a sequel either, and I also can't imagine what a Nicholson Joker sequel would look like.

The Nolan trilogy had such great potential with BB and TDK.

TDKR was such a strange film, not just Bane's voice, the odd use of 'Robin', the cursory nature of Selina Kyle in relation to Bruce, but the fact that it confirms that Bruce was only Batman for less than two years.

He runs away at the end of TDK, hangs up the suit and becomes a recluse. It's so at odds with the comic book history of the obsessed character who goes out night after night, taking the punishment because he's driven to do so.

TDKR was therefore a major disappointment, even though it was cinematically spectacular.

Nolan's Batman was always looking for a way out going as far back to BB and TDK. It's even part of the plot and Bruce's motivation in TDK. Batman was a temporary solution, not a long term one. In BB, he mentions that he wants to become a symbol, so that he can be everlasting. He didn't mean he was going to literally fight crime until old age. He wanted to evoke a change in Gotham. Dent and the Dent act were his way out. Also, by the end of TDK he was officially a wanted criminal and a murderer in order to protect the Dent act and Dent's legacy, so Batman fighting crime would have been somewhat difficult and counter productive.

That's why I think the potential for the trilogy was always drifting away. They're all good films up to a point, but the storyline means they fall annoyingly short - which was apparent with the killing off of Dent before he really had a chance to enter the 'Rogue's Gallery' as a criminal kingpin.

The '89 Batman did it as well, by killing off The Joker, a character who has been so intertwined with The Batman, as an ever present sick parody or reflection of himself.

I began to prefer the idea of the Gotham version over the Nolan trilogy. The long series format allowed for so much more development of the characters, but even this was hampered by not being permitted to use 'The Joker' fully.

Forgot about Dent. Would have been good to see Two-Face in part 3 although I understand why Nolan decided to kill Dent off in TDK.

For a “real” Batman, you can’t get it from a movie. It needs a proper TV series. Still have no idea how this hasn’t been pitched yet. A GOT quality HBO Batman would probably be the 2020s best TV series if done right. Let the cast grow into the roles over the years.

Season 1 - Crime Alley scene, follow Bruce around the world training, slowly enter into the Year One story. Followed by Year Zero with introductions to Red Hood Gang/Joker and Riddler.

Just follow the comics and do the major stories. Introduce the Bat-Family over the seasons. Hell they could make one season based on Long Halloween alone.
