That's the one thing I don't like about my TCL 6 Series. HDR is so dark I pretty much have to watch 4K movies at night with the lights dimmed or off unless it's some super bright and colorful movie like Raimi Spider-Man or something.

Interesting. I've got a TCL 6 Series as well but have yet to upgrade to 4K. Maybe when I get around to replacing my PS4 with a PS5. Even so, my TCL is in the basement with east facing windows under a deck, so unless it's early morning it's pretty dark down there as a rule.

The problem with LED tvs is the FALD can be way too aggressive in HDR and dolby vision. That's why I traded up for an LG OLED that turns on and off each individual pixel instead of having a backlight.

You guys should see the rich deep color pop on those QD-OLEDs

They can now reach 99.9% of DCI-P3 and 91% of Rec2020!

What amazing tech we have.

I saw it in Atmos in the theater and it pretty cool. The opening scene sounded like I was standing in the rain. I think the main issue was that the sound was too loud. Plus the picture quality was not great, the title screen was red on dark gray. So, I was pleased to watch it at home to have good PQ. But of course, I don't have Atmos at home. The HBO Max version sound was not great, the Batmobile didn't rumble as I expected it would, so I'm looking forward to hearing the disc version to see how it compares.

Yikes then stay away from OLEDs the blacks are so black they refer to it as looking into Kathleen Kennedy’s soul.

Uh, yeah.. Especially 4k BD's.

There are people who actually have a real A/V system... A big OLED or projector along with a true Home Theater system with actual speakers for a 7.1 set up. Or even better an Atmos setup 7.2.2 or even more..

Not people who watch with headphones on their phones, PC's, tablets... Or own crappy TV's.. Or even having the laugh out loud "Soundbar" (sorry to those who think their soundbar w or w/o a subwoofer sounds good) .... None of that is actual Home Theater.

Don't get confused with/by people who actually ENJOY a good picture and sound. Streaming just doesn't cut it. Especially the Audio. It's all compressed to hell.

I buy all movies/tv shows I plan to rewatch on disc. Streaming/digital is an absolute last resort.
