If they completely ignore the events of MoS, BvS, Suicide Squad and the Justice League and have no cameos by Superman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Cyborg, Steppenwolf, Luthor, Lois Lane, etc and just focus on the Affleck Batman's Gotham, it should be fine.


Fat chance though, Deathstroke is in Justice League.

I'll be shocked if this ever goes before cameras.

Can't say I'm a fan of Matt Reeves. I've see the Apes films and they're ok, but not very memorable.

I'm sure he'll make the film WB wants him to make.

This movie unfortunately is gonna be another DC/WB mess.... I wouldn't be surprised if Affleck walks away all together and we get another Bruce Wayne/Batman actor.... Which I'd actually be ok with as I still don't like/see Affleck as a good fit for Bruce/Bats. He's not terrible, but they could still find someone much better. To me Affleck just isn't an action star. He comes across as a muscular guy who looks like an athlete but then turns out to be a complete and uncoordinated spaz.. So for me there still hasn't been a definitive Bruce/Batman actor.

As a side note, this movie could be great. There's no reason it needs to be squeezed into the new DCEU as it was established that Brucey had already been Bats for like 15 years or whatever prior to BvS... That's 15 years of great storytelling using just Bats and his Rogues gallery that doesn't need to have cameos or be shoehorned into existing stories... They could've had **** Grayson as Robin, show him mature into Nightwing (thus setting up a Teen Titans spinoff in the current timeline), and introduce the 2nd Robin that we see was killed by Joker, or even do that storyline. Several good stand alone movies with the last leading up to BvS. WB is so clueless how to handle their own characters or create a cohesive Universe... Sad

I would love it if they showed the Batman in the past. Maybe show what he was like before the events of BvS. Show Robin get killed. There is a way to make it so the film exists in this DC universe and not have it connected to the current timeline. I don't know, I maybe too hopeful but I still have faith there could be a good DC movie to come out. Especially if it involves this kind of talent.

Supposedly Affleck and WB are really happy with the script, so this might just turn out alright.

Not a big fan of Reeves though, I found the second Apes film to be as mediocre as the first.

To be fair to MR the Russo's also came out of nowhere and now they're the gods of superhero action.

At the end of the day I just hope WW/JL/Batman turn out good, Marvel knows that good DC movies helps the entire industry.

Where WB got stupid was with Zach running his mouth pre BvS.

I like the cinematography in Apes movies he directed.
He's ok with grounded drama and good at creatin' tension.

Here's hope the script is really good.

To be fair to MR the Russo's also came out of nowhere and now they're the gods of superhero action.

Nah, they pulled off one great Cap movie and were then forced to make a reactionary movie to BvS that wrote the book about how to play it safe and took zero risks with its characters.

Reeves can direct circles around them. Let Me In makes CW look like an AXE Body Spray commercial.
