I doubt this movie will ever go into production. It's supposed to take place a short time after The Batman, but Pattinson will be 5 YEARS older in Part II. I think Reeves will have to alter the original plan considerably. If Superman is successful next summer, I feel like WB will just abandon the Reevesverse altogether. I mean hell, we already have a Clayface movie in the works, but no The Batman Part II? There doesn't seem to be any urgency on the part of WB or Reeves to get the script done in a timely manner.

If we just had The Batman, I wouldn't be too bothered about not getting a sequel. I think it works as a standalone, "elseworlds" story. But The Penguin made The Batman much more interesting, so it would be a shame not to see more media from that universe.

Zack Synder isn’t even a good Zack Snyder.
Never been in this thread before. Thought I'd have a look out of mild interest. The last page is mainly Snyder.

That's a really moronic justification, especially from Gunn.

Most of those films did not have sequels in mind at all when they were made. G3 was delayed because he was fired and rehired. Christ.

I'm also hearing it's delayed because of a personal reason with Reeves. Someone close might have died.

We’re at the point where new seasons of TV shows are taking 3 years. I don’t find 5 years for a sequel movie to be particularly shocking anymore.

Although I’d rather not wait that long but I’ve waited longer for sequels to games, way longer.

The only things I absolutely need to see over the next year or two are Andor, Daredevil, Alien Earth, Predator Badlands, Indy for PS5 and GTA 6. maybe Avengers Doomsday.

Don't really give a **** about Cap 4, Fantastic 4, or whatever else Marvel has coming.

If Snyder's contributions amounted to little, then how come he's always brought up in conversation?

If something ain't good, people move on and forget. It's been so many years, and Snyder's work still hasn't faded from relevancy.

His Batman and Superman still sell.

The problem is not just that what he delivered was mostly garbage, it's that he had all the ingredients to deliver absolute gold but failed spectacularly to do so. I mean I saw the decision to hire him as a non-starter from the get go, and I just am not a fan of his film making style, but man, did he have a huge opportunity... to some extent i feel for him given the tragedy he went through at exactly the wrong time for his DCEU... but still... after what Nolan achieved with the TDK trilogy, the ball was dropped majorly. BvS was just one of the biggest missteps in the history of Hollywood IMO.

I think the reality is they are placing the film into a slot. They had success with Penguin and they likely have other projects ready to go this year.
They figure it's a guaranteed money maker and put it into a time where they would need cash flow due to no other major projects planned.

Simple corporate strategy.

A lot of people think he did.

I think he's definitely had his missteps, but his work has certainly left an impression on me.

Honestly the fact is, the Universe and the stories were left unfinished because they simply did not pull in the numbers they needed to. At the end of the day that's the the reality whether anyone likes it or not. Take his handling of Doomsday and the whole death of Superman saga - i mean, the superman has barely been established, had one film and you decide to stuff introducing Batman, several JL characters AND Doomsday all into a single film? What was the rush? Marvel took a good dozen plus films before they decided to kill any of their main characters. You have to build up the stakes for a death to actually have any impact. And the less I say about Doomsday himself the better...

That is just one of several examples of how his entire vision was doomed to fail because it was so spineless

Impression on you but most of what he did sucked and also the reason why Snyder was brought up was because of crows lol.
