Wha???? Your mods look GREAT. And I'm sure they were a heck of a lot cheaper. Great work, man. And yeah, two sets so far. It is an ambitious/expensive undertaking for anyone to do. You're lucky man. Enjoy this set!

Oh, no worries, Bro. :) I LOVE my Set, worth all the effort as I'm sure the group here will be too. I mean, to have a set of 64 Beatles?! It's crazy to even think this was possible a year ago.

Now, if we can only get these Hofners in, we'll all be set! :D

I have my own set forthcoming...I have a set of vox amps, drums, and yeah, I painted my own heads. I'll post it when I get everything in and finished. :)

Your heads look awesome, capn. Excellent work. :D Can you repost those pics again.. or do want to wait until you have your set done?

Here they are ;)

I remember those. The ST: Enterprise clipping is vividly familiar. Haha. Can't wait to see those finished up!

Here they are ;)

Did you just use citadel paints for the heads? If so what colour did you use for the skin base?

I'm hoping to get at least a Lennon head, just wondering whether I should buy it painted or have a go myself.

Have you guys seen these?

Yes, those were posted some time back in the original thread. They are Trev's wonderful 1/4 heads he did as a private commission. :D

Yup, I just use citadel paints. Best on the market in my opinion. I start with a primer spraypaint, then my base is a mix of bestial brown and elf flesh. Then, I build it up with watered down layers of elf flesh and dwarf flesh. Just take your time, if you have a good eye for detail it's no big deal.

HELP!

I need my bass! :lol

Had a moment to snap Paul playing air guitar. Again, overcast day, lousy light, not great but best I could do. Can't wait to hear from unclefat.

Thanks WG. ;) Good as I could get him.

Paul's expression really doesn't lend itself all that well to a stage pose -- unless he's singing "Yesterday" which is not my personal favorite. He looks sort of contemplative... like he's thinking or something, which is crazy because it is without doubt the best sculpt. I guess I can get him more animated by tilting his head, but with all four Lads on stage now I should really reserve judgment until he has his Guitar in hand.

Hey Gang, I did this test of the Hofs we're getting. I cut a paper facsimilie from tracing the probadisk off a pic so it's prolly not too far off. I hope...

I really hope I don't have to pinstripe the Hof, it looks like it comes with white edging but couldn't tell from the pic.

Ths thread will blow up once the Hofs arrive! Most are on the way now. Can't wait to see new pics of completed sets :D

Just a body question- I'm making several customs at the moment, a newbie at kit bashing, and have run across various body types, so I'm slowly being educated. I still have yet to order my Beatles heads while I search for bodies for them.

Looking at these Beatles heads it strikes me that they require the smallest slimmest bodies available (even the Tru Types seems a bit oversized for the heads). I recently ran across one Dragon body (with Asian headsculpt, don't know the name) that seems to be the very slimmest body type they made (aside from the youth body) and would likely be ideal for these Beatles heads (but I am using that body for another custom, and again, it's only one body anyway).

So, any suggestions on which bodies might be slimmer than the average Dragon and True Type?

Sean

Hey Sean,

Well, I'd be careful. Main point here is best to use HT hands for J, G and P as you want the most realistic Guitar playing hands which means HT compatible bodies...

Here's what I ended up doing...

- Ringo: Dragon short (like Cheong or J Chan) as Ringo is the shortest. The hands I used were flexible to grip the drumsticks.

- George: No Brainer HT Slim. And I would also recommend HT Slim for Paul.

My Paul: TTL 1.0, it has a higher neck post and sits well. Hands are HT. TTls are compatible with HT Bodies. I think Capn used TTL 1.0 for some of his.

John: My John is actually on a Dragon Body. I found good enough Dragon hands to use as I recall. But again would recommend Reg Trutype for John.

I dremmeled each head to fit their corresponding neck connector.

The higher the neck connector the better IMO to avoid a stumpy neck look as these guys wear collared shirts. And get the right shirts! Very important. Saturday Toys Black Suits may be your best bet now, comes with a white shirt. I used HT Police Joker and/or Dent shirts and glued the collar points to the shirts. I've seen some sets where the collars look too high. Avoid that! Dragon neck posts are a bit flatter and lower.

Last Note: I glued the thumb and forefinger of both John and Paul's hands to simulate Guitar picking hands.

My only problem is that once the clothes go on, the bodies looks a little hefty compared to the heads, but George seems to look ok (though I can't find any image without the guitar in front of him).

I'm going a different route as far as clothing goes. And I can customize any body to fit the hands I want, so that's not the concern.

Can you even buy HT Slim bodies anymore aside from eBay maybe (this was the Michael Jackson body, right?)? That's not the same as the Narrow Shoulder currently in release, right?

Sean

Gotcha Sean, don't know where to pick up HT Slims these days but yes, the MJ is a slim body as far as I know. Good luck.
