So...no one is going to bother making a TV that will show 3D and 4K (not at the same time, I know that won't happen)? Seems like a waste.

Poo. :(

I am so not happy about that!

Passive 3D would've benefited greatly from 4K!

People complained about wearing 3D glasses wait until they put on those VR headsets! :lol

It gets confusing.

Just remember, even if you find a 4K 3D TV, there will NOT be ANY native 4K 3D blurays, only 1080 3D movies, which will work on a 4K 3D TV.

Please give me a minute boys to shake my head in disgust.

Ok, i'm back.

Only the premium models from LG and Sony will have 3D. Not even Vizio!

Word is that Sony might also dump it.

****!

Time for a damn class action if you ask me!

Sure you can still find some 1080p 3D sets, but for how long!

If you think about the 3D Star Wars, MCU, and Avatar movies alone coming out in the next 5-6 years that's just so much content in addition to all the titles going back to the original Avatar (and even before.) 3D players are cheap. Why not keep making them? Yeah I get there's a small percentage of us that want the theatrical experience at home but that never stopped formats like laserdisc from going strong for over two decades.

Very strange to have the technology available to replicate it at home and then go backwards. That's like arbitrarily deciding to go back to 4:3 pan and scan or mono.

Believe it or not khev, most people hated the glasses.

Plus the higher cost for the 3D movies didn't help either.

Content was still low on the overall scale.

Active 3D was costly to manufacture.

I don't care about any of those reasons, I LOVE MY 3D MOVIES!

I hate 3D so seeing it go away doesn't both me. I've never liked it. Don't really know why, but it just annoys me. I have a 3D TV and Blu Ray player and some Blu rays, but never bothered to buy glasses for it.

Some 3D moves won't suffer in 2D (TFA will still be great) but others (Avatar, Hobbit trilogy) are really diminished without a proper 3D presentation. Sure I recognize that if a movie doesn't hold up as well in 2D then it's the film's fault and I don't care about Avatar but still, I *like* 3D Hobbit.

From what I've been reading on Samsung's Facebook page, their tvs and customer service sucks anyway. :lol

Nah, their TV's are great.

I'm a Sony guy myself but Samsung/LG stole Sony/Panasonics fire a few years ago.

The Japs are still playing catch up with the South Koreans in the TV department.

Hell, Sony has even taken a back seat to 4K blurays!

They were the pioneers of the Bluray consortium and now they won't even be releasing a 4K player until end of 2016 possible 2017 even!

You see no mention of PS4 being 4K compatible yet PS3 was what lead the bluray 1080p revolution.

Samsung is the only mainstream 4K player out in the market right now.

Times are all ****ed up! :lol

I want a ps4 but I've been holding out for one with more memory and uhd capability. I hope that happens.
