Most of those movies are not even made in 3d. Conversions are horrible. We all know it.

Not anymore. Jurassic Park ushered in the era of spectacular conversions about four years ago. All MCU films are post-converted and all of them starting with TWS in 2014 look great. And if you didn't watch the Hobbit films, ASM2, Fury Road (or any new Pixar/Disney animated movie) in 3D then you really missed out.

Well that is just too much of a generalized false statement.

Jurassic Park, Avengers, TWS, ASM2, Fury Road and Predator are just a few examples of conversions that are known to be as good as a movie that was shot with a 3D camera.

Word is that the T2 conversion is looking spectacular, I am super excited for that one.

As far as movie-going gimmicks go, I still prefer water sprayed at you like the Muppets 3-D ride, and "smell-o-vision" than 3-D. Companies should be making more TVs that can do those things, and I would consider buying.

You guys can drink the kool-aid as you wish.
We all do in different things.
But we all know it is already dying and seeing less and less support on the home front in favor of other tech.
I am sure Cameron will give it another push with his other movies.
But like the saying goes, opinions are like @$$holes, we all got one, and nothing makes an opinion fact, but it does make us unique and allow us all to contribute to discussion.

I do raffle most of my digital copies for my library. :rock

Mainly just collect em. I do the same with video games. I did enjoy this movie, saw it 14 times in theatre; so I'm good with dropping that much. Hopefully that gives some reason as to why. :lol

Wow, 14 times!

With ll those purchases, you must have a massive library of films. I thought I had a lot, somewhere in the neighborhood of 700 movies, maybe a little more.

I guess you're right, rushmore must be wrong about his daughter.

Yeah, guess I don't know what I'm talking about.

I have enjoyed many 3D movies, and some are meh. One of my favorites is still Hugo, which was served very well by 3D.

3D maybe dying in home theater, but I think it's here to stay at movie heaters.

You forgot one of the best conversions to date, Titanic.

It's not going anywhere theatrically (thank the maker), it is a long standing tradition that needs to be preserved one way or another regardless of out of pocket cost.

For home use, when VR falls flat on its face they will be right back at 3D and yes, hopefully glasses free, just to stop all the whining. :lol

It changed the movie drastically for me. I was more focused on the visuals than paying attention to the movie :lol

I just hit 1200 a while ago. Ive mainly been doing more within the last year.

Maybe youre right...I should use some of that money for another bookshelf. :lol

I personally prefer it over my other collections. I get the same high and feeling for a hunt compared to some PFs. Probably the only reason I drop more money on em.

I prefer collecting these as well since they are cheaper and you can get them in the mail pretty often :lol I can't say the same about statues. Expensive and I've slowed down immensely.
