I won't be sad to see 3D go. Biggest waste of time imo. But 4k or 8k now that's cool. I'm expecting a full 4K release of Star Wars movies this year for the 40th anniversary. Really hope that happens.

I have a feeling that unless I have a HUGE screen, I may not be able to discern 8K from 4K.

My new 3D TV is also a 4K TV.

I won't watch these at home in 2D anymore:

Jurassic Park
TWS
CW
Avengers
AOU
Dredd
Force Awakens
It Came from Outer Space

Predator if i'm in an 80's nostalgia mood i'll watch in old school 2D but 3D is also awesome.

Same for Top Gun although the 3D is not as good as Predator.

jye, how could you bud?
You forgot Piranha 3D!

You'll have to seal one away in your own makeshift vault for when the inevitable happens. Either that or start hoarding 3DTV parts.

:lol :lol :lol

8K starts getting good at about 85".....make it 100". :lol

I also forgot

ASM2, My Bloody Valentine and Wet T-shirt Girls 3D. :gah:

Never was a big fan of 3D, so I'm not too upset about seeing the nails pounded into that coffin. I just got a LG 65 OLED, so if they do a SW in 4K, I'll be in heaven.

It will be in 4K. We just have to wait as usual.
I remember when HD was available for a long while and Lucasfilm still refused to release the OT in anything better than DVD.

Yep they did the same with DVD. They wait 5-7 years for full market saturation and then release them all for maximum first week sales. Don't expect to see 4K SW anytime soon.

So much care was put into the cinematography of RO matching the OT that I'll actually be fine watching that one in 2D. Plus that was how I first saw it on the big screen as well.

2D in April. 3D in November.

Same for Episode 8 actually in 2018.

I never did see RO in 3d in the theater. Hope it makes it to 3D on blu ray.
So good you forget you're watching a 3D flick. Let me explain it a different way... it was so immersive and well placed that it didn't feel forced or gimmicky. I hope it makes it home too.
