The movie is crap when compared to the likes of F13th 1, Halloween 1, Black Christmas 74, Prom Night 1 and My Bloody Valentine but there is no denying that messed up shocking ending and lets not forget that famous line: They call them baldies ...yikes! That would not fly today lol

Then gays presented as something that will turn you into a serial killer lol. Yup that would also not fly today.

You know I'd probably rate SC pretty high in it's respective genre. Below the original Halloween of course but it was really unique in how it featured *actual* teenagers and not 20-somethings playing teens. That made some of the deaths feel way more wrong than what we're accustomed to in this genre. Also it's got that Jurassic World "the park is open" vibe by having the murders taking place during an actual in-session summer camp instead of pre-camp with counselors only like most of the F13 flicks (one of the reasons I like F13 Pt VI in particular, despite it not going the distance like SC and actually killing any of the kids.)

And yeah no way could SC be remade today, lol.

Last shot of SC remake, "Oh my God she's a Wachowski!"

:lol

Honestly that reveal today would just be met with congratulatory tweets and coming out party lol

If i?m not mistaken the killer from Terror Train also had a theme of homosexuality built into his narrative.

Yeah I was just thinking that. Just say the other kids were teasing her *because* she was a dude and then present her as an antihero. Or keep the movie as is and just show all the parents dropping their kids off wearing MAGA hats, lol. "Camp Deplorable," lol. Even in the current movie homosexuality and cross-dressing is presented as more villainous than the killer her/himself, who actually was pretty sympathetic all things considered. I think she might be the only slasher killer I can think of off the top of my head that *only* killed people who messed with her (compared to The Shape, Jason, Jason's mom, Freddy, etc., who all targeted innocent people they didn't know.)

If i?m not mistaken the killer from Terror Train also had a theme of homosexuality built into his narrative.

Haven't seen that one. I have caught a few other horror flicks over that past few days that I'd grown up hearing about but never actually saw. Humanoids from the Deep for one. Pretty lame, if for no other reason than I could never really buy that the girls couldn't easily escape the monsters. Then I watched Prophecy last night. I was actually pretty surprised at the production value and overall quality until the kid was hopping away in his zipped up sleeping bag and the bear hit him and sent him into the rocks at LIGHTSPEED. I literally laughed out loud. Why would a mercury infection suddenly give a bear MCU Hulk physics, lol.

To be fair she did fill out the suit nicely. Alita is a great movie but we all like different things. I too have been watching old horror movies. I am on the nightmare on elm street series. I really like the original and 3 a lot.

I know that it's considered one of the lesser entries (or maybe even dead last) but I've always really liked Part 2 Freddy's Revenge. For one I remember staring at the hot girl on the poster when my parents were buying me tickets to see Rocky IV (lol) and I've just always liked the unsettling vibe of Freddy appearing in the flesh at the party at the end.

Yeah TT isn?t that good is it lol

Honestly when it comes to slasher movies my list is pretty small.

I swear my 80?s brain was just mush I would devote a ton of hours seeking out crappy horror movies.

It's amazing the volume of slasher films that was offered up in the early 80's alone. It makes perfect sense though: cheap budgets, no cast, little FX, nudity...

With that formula and the amount of cell phones out in the world, its amazing we're not inundated with home-made slasher movie options now.

I wonder if this new generation would appreciate a terribly gory, full of nudity, teen slasher pic today?

That girls ass in the shorts from F13th part 2 is still a gem to this day lol

But nothing can top that blonde in the F13th remake from 2009 hnnnnnng

Slasher or not horror movies are eternal.

Chris Evans said his favorite horror movie from last year was Hereditary. :yess
