At least he wore his helmet. I'll give him points for that.

Boba is kind of like Lawrence of Arabia now.

When Boba was teaching the Tuskens how to ride bikes, I was a bit distracted by Boba's white teeth.

That smile was creeping me out.

My wife and I were just commenting on this in general in hollywood as we watched the Yellowstone prequel 1883. Here are these frontier people who haven't bathed, are borderline dying and they all have absolutely perfect, white shiny teeth. Why they don't use prosthetic, era appropriate teeth at least for closeups is beyond me.

Pretty clear that the creators or Favreau specifically catered Boba Fett to Temuera than Temuera to Boba Fett. All that New Zealand tribesman crap he does is probably why Boba is some barbarian now instead of a wily bounty hunter.

Even the most beloved Star Wars content of all time (things like ESB) are seen to be held together with tape and hand waving upon close inspection. I don't think it's unfair to say that these stories succeed or fail based on their simplicity and spectacle; when these elements have synergy a lot is forgiven and we get a fun ride.

Rogue One is an example of Star Wars with nuance and complexity. It's very good -- but tonally hard to slot in with the other stories because of that complexity. I'm not saying it should not be so, but it doesn't need to be in order to succeed. It would be wrong to judge something like Star Wars against the likes of Game of Thrones or The Wire etc. -- it's not built the same.

I don't disagree there.
I do wonder why are people up in arms claiming things like against character, and needing exact and direct exposition or scenes if SW was always a simple story with simple characters.

Whoa, I just took a close look at her. 😬

And that dude on the right looks like he wandered on set to ask the shooting crew for spare change.

Check out the leather jacket on the guy getting hassled by the Hells Angels.

And also Morrison's costume in the Hutt confrontation. His chest armor now leaves his entire beer gut exposed and his plastic shoulder pads are so cheap that light passes through them.

I noticed that too. They just don't forge beskar the way they used to.

This has been touched upon; plenty of arguments to be made that he's out of character that can be backed up.

Are you sure about that? I don't think most people have a problem with subtlety, if anything what exposition there is seems pretty clumsy.

Much of it is in fact way too on the nose. How about the railroad that attacks the native "tuskens" while also showing the wide image of the herds of "bantha". I'm pretty sure there were familiar illustrations in my 4th grade history textbook.
