It's not Fett having trouble with opponents that bothers me it's the overall characterization which I've noted in detail in other posts. How old is he supposed to be at this time?

We all get older, slower, take longer to heal ... using your body hard (sport, combat or what have you) will take its toll over time. I haven't seen a big decline in power, if anything I'm stronger ... but I'm slower and tire more easily, take longer to recover from injuries. I can extend that sympathy to Boba Fett especially given the physical hardships of rough desert living and Sarlacc injuries.

He should be around 41 in 9ABY, born 32BBY.

OK, I actually enjoyed that episode for the most part. But then I liked Dances With Wolves the first time I saw it too, not to mention Roy Hobbs when he made his bat from the tree that was hit by lightning the night his dad died. Too bad they cut the part where Boba carved “Wonderstick” into the handle of his staff.

I still can’t get past the decision to show Morrison so much in action scenes rather than stunt doubles. I realize the story so far has required it, but he’s laughably bad (and I don’t just mean his facial expressions lol). Not as bad as old man Indy, but at least Harrison Ford can still be charismatic on screen. That’s a trait Morrison is lacking, especially with the helmet off.

IDK, the very premise of the show requires an immense suspension of disbelief: He and Fennec stroll into Jabba’s palace, kill the poser on the throne & just expect to take over? With no manpower? It seems obvious that they’re setting up the Tuskens to be his trump card, but with 80% of the story being told in flashbacks so far they’re not leaving themselves a lot of time for a coherent storyline to play out in the present.

p.s. - I think his tribe name is Lizard Snorter. All he needed to do was inhale the spice for his vision quest, but they wanted to see if he was dumb enough to fall for the old gecko up the nose gag.

I was lead to believe that this episode was better than the last. :lol

It feels like the the Robot Chicken or Spaceballs version of Star Wars, so it's hard to take seriously or get into like The Mandalorian.

I stopped at 21 minutes, because there really is a Hells Angels chapter making a nuisance of themselves in the bar. :slap

Thanks for the laugh, I just died 🤣.

A sneering history lesson about America's conquest of the West and *also* unruly biker gangs and this is supposed to be a Star Wars show. Yep, feels about right for Disney Star Wars content anyway...

All of this crap is so on the nose I can't believe it's coming from the same people who made The Mandalorian.

So let's say he's as physically dangerous as a champion Light Heavyweight (168-175 pounds) in their prime although he presented as lighter in ESB. Assume he's a highly skilled hand to hand combatant and durable with a high pain tolerance; but he wouldn't necessarily be at the very top of that game because he needs time to hone other skills like sharpshooting, climbing, swimming, piloting, etc.

At the age of 41 he's likely to be at the top of his game in regards to psychological endurance, pain threshold, anticipating situations, 'eyes' (ability to read his opponent's moves) and strength, but he's going to start feeling the effects of accumulated injuries and aging. Even if you correct for medical advances in a galaxy far far away, he's at the peak of the curve and starting a slow but inevitable decline.

Next, he gets smashed up against a solid object, thrown into a creature wherein he's partially smothered, suffers contusions and oxygen deprivation, maybe some chemical burns, followed by exposure and dehydration and beatings, followed by hard training in a hostile environment he's not born to and more combat.

So I can buy him not being 100%, and even the best fighters have their off days. So getting his *** beat by someone who got the jump on him or someone younger and faster and fitter ... that can happen.

What bothers me is the overall characterization and script, not that he loses the odd scuffle.

I want to like it.

But the creators just make it very hard to do so.

There's a lot of comedy, but I don't know if all of it is intentional.

It feels so different to The Mandalorian.

Jeez, I thought I was watching The Doors for a minute. Is this Temuera Morrison or Jim Morrison? I was expecting to hear "The End" at any time. Hail Boba Fett - The Lizard King! :lol

Unfortunately, the "good" part of the episode is all the flashbacks and we all know where he ends up after that.

The "bad" part of the episode is what I wanted to see, but it's been bad. I can't deny it, both one and two have been really, really bad as far as what's going on in "current day" Mos Epsa.

It seems like the writers are putting a hell of a lot more effort into the flashbacks. If that's what they wanted to do, they should have just done that and had the show in chronological order. But then people would whine and ***** that Boba isn't in the armor or the helmet for the entire episode.

The result is that the "main" part of the story, the bait they used to hook us all in with that teaser, is just coming off as a poorly executed after-thought.

For real, that Mayor's Aide has gotta go.

He’s not as bad as the mechanic woman from Mando at least. She felt right out of a budget direct to TV holiday movie.

Lol, Roy Hobbs and "Wonderstick"🤣

Great points though. You don't just take over a criminal empire by walking into Don Corleone's social club and shooting him in the face.

And it is also obvious that Morrison is horrible for the part of Boba Fett at this stage of his life. Lots of people are choosing to pretend his acting isn't laughably bad, but it's pretty awful.

Apologies for the ignorance, who are these characters? I kinda thought they were random citizens in tattoine until you mentioned their names
Wait till people realize certain deleted Tosche Station locals just became canon again...

Probably unnamed, throwaway easteregg, yet looks like an older Camie and Fixer are who Fett saves from the current Tatooine gangs.
With diehard OT fans FavrOni & Rodriguez involved that's no accident.

“Fear is the path to the dark side … fear leads to anger … anger leads to hate … hate leads to suffering”

Anakin is too old, formed attachments, Jedi warn he can not be trained and they are worried. Anakin leaves his mother (fear) his mother dies (anger) and he kills the Tuskens (hate), but he gets over this suffering because he loved Padme (attachment=bad). Anakin is fearful Padme will die. Angry the Jedi are holding him back. Hates them for it. Then suffers as Vader.

It was easy to see. He didn’t go from heroic Jedi to evil Sith in minutes.

I've seen the PT, Bart.

Many, many, many times.

He's a good guy all the way through. Even after he kills the Tuskens and kills Dooku, he just says "Whoopsie" and he's still a good guy. Gets promoted even.

He literally becomes Darth Vader in about 15 seconds.

One minute he's flying around shooting droids and smiling with Obi Wan, and the next he's killing children.

If you want to talk about bad characterization in Book of Boba Fett, that's fine, but for god's sake, don't hold up the freaking prequels as an example of how it was "done right!"

I was championing his acting ability based on past work, but for whatever reason I find him falling flat here. Have to agree.

Yeah I doubt the words "mate" and "bugger" were in the script. He must have just kept slipping those words in there and they had to use the best takes they had.
