400...so we have WAAAAYYY more seasons of the Lone Wolf & Cub show before Grogu says "nnnnnooooooo!" and joins the Sith
Can't wait for them to explain where Grogu was during the events of the ST. Hopefully not in hiding and just living the life with a retired Din (not sure how old he would be...). 😎

He was off riding space whales in a distant galaxy. And Boba Fett thinks riding a depressed rancor is going to be cool. So clueless. :lol

But if they are indeed following Lucas, how critical of a mistake that is. Hardcore fans think there really is only two SW movies. I still like the entire OT. Consensus is that the PT and ST are critical failures. To follow his advice simply is continuing his failure. The best laid plans and lessons is from the EU novelists, which George also approved by the way. If he hates Mara Jade so much, why did he approve her? George is a walking contradiction. You need real SW fans with logical motives and common sense to overcome this perpetual nightmare of failure.

I don't give AF about George's best laid plans. What is logical? What is in the spirit of SW and their respective characters? Luke would learn humbly that sacrificing his training for his friends was worth it. He did go save Han on Tatooine after Bespin. The character of Luke Skywalker is that saving the lives of the individual now might and probably is better than sacrificing the individual for the greater good.

I will leave you with this. George Lucas sells Lucasfilm to Disney for billions. Then he goes on television and calls them "white slavers". Dude lost his marbles long ago. The OT was the groundwork laid out for the EU novelists that took the baton and made it better. PT, Clone Wars, Disney ST and spinoffs are all a walking contradiction and a poorly made ones at that.
He makes the jump.......
Don't forget this either.

“[The next three ‘Star Wars’ films] were going to get into a microbiotic world,” he told Cameron. “There’s this world of creatures that operate differently than we do. I call them the Whills. And the Whills are the ones who actually control the universe. They feed off the Force.”

Elsewhere in the conversation, Lucas admitted, “Everybody hated it in ‘Phantom Menace’ [when] we started talking about midi-chlorians.” In terms of his storytelling, Lucas regarded individuals as “vehicles for the Whills to travel around in…And the conduit is the midi-chlorians. The midi-chlorians are the ones that communicate with the Whills. The Whills, in a general sense, they are the Force.”

Lucas is confidant that had he kept his company, the Whills-focused films “would have been done. Of course, a lot of the fans would have hated it, just like they did ‘Phantom Menace’ and everything, but at least the whole story from beginning to end would be told.”
...... and sticks the landing.
Just watching it again and yeah Asoka's dialogue does set up that seeing Mando again is likely to put a spanner in the jedi training for Grogu. Then Luke expresses his doubts that Grogu actually wants to be trained. OK so Grogu is heavily distracted and Luke knows.

I'm wondering about that exchange of dialogue with Luke and Asoka though - Luke says ''sometimes I wonder if his heart is in it'' and Asoka's response to that is ''so like your father''. I initially assumed she was talking about Luke - which struck me as a bizarre and random thing to say as a reply to what Luke said about Grogu. Seemed to me it was just a forced piece of dialogue to remind us that she knew Anakin. Unless what she meant was that Grogu is like Anakin?

Pretty horrible :lol I'm fortunate to get along well with my brothers, I also consider them my best friends. If one of them were casually murdered in front of me for the sake of a hat, that's an unsettling thought.
I am not sure.. But there may be a chance that Anakin said that to her at some point in the early episodes.

What amazes me about this show and SW in general lately is how much I don't even feel like discussing it.

I don't even have it in me to complain. I wish I felt really strongly one way or the other so I could get in some good discussions here.

The PT and ST have kind a killed me. Even though I like TROS and it helped save the ST for me. Those films could have and should have been so much more. While I don't get as upset about what they did to the Han and Luke characters in the ST I understand 100% why people feel they way they do and ultimatly it was a failure to those characters and the fans.

The PT is no better. Committing some of the same sins as the ST but much more amateurishly.

Some changes to the OT are unforgivable.

But I pushed through and just accepted it and was able to find enjoyment out of all of it (except sins of OT changes)

The Mandolorian I thought was OK to good. It got my SW juices flowing again and kept me on the high that TROS gave me.

Then came BOBF... It just beat me down and reminded me of how I felt after the PT films and the first two ST films. Even though I liked the last two episodes the first 4 episodes reminded me of everything I hated about Bad SW.

I really wish that the Disney SW shows would get a better composer for their shows and push the music more. IMO its really missed. So much of SW and the building of the galaxy is the scores. These D+ shows have the most average scores playing and the are played quietly.

The look and sound of D+ SW and Marvel shows just feel so much like ABC tv shows it drives me crazy.

IDK I'm all over the place with this rant. I think most of this comes from the fact that I just found out the RR is directing the last episode. What he has showed us so far tells me that it will suck. Granted some good writing could help... But do I even really care about what is to happen in this final episode? Who the hell are these villains? Do, do I care about their motives and what they are up to? I swear its the only reason Cad Bane is in the show now. They knew they had a villain problem.

@JAWS ... yeah. After writing many screeds against the ST some time during the Pandemic's opening I just kind of burned out and thought "What's the point?" -- I still geek out and trade views here, but I'm not invested the way I once was. Maybe at the end of the day -- and this comes as no surprise to anyone here -- some things just belong in the past.

Your comment regarding the score is very resonant. John Williams' music *is* Star Wars and is capable of elevating it far above its failings.

As a grown adult now, it's time to find entertainment and interest in other things, other genres. This doesn't detract from the good Star Wars has given us fans, if anything it elevates it and makes it more special, because it can't be easily replicated nor ever replaced.

Hopefully he makes the right choice.

YouTubers have a theory that Grogu is the future Mandalorian debating that the title of series is not necessarily talking about Din

i see it as luke having one opportunity to save the jedi race, he knows how old grogu is. especially after seeing that order 66 memory. there’s no need to pamper him, if he wants to be a jedi it’s a difficult road. no point in being false to grogu just because he’s small and doesn’t talk. (he clearly can understand what others are telling him).

the jedi already handed out “participation” trophies and it got them all killed lol.

What is the point of being mean to a literal baby? Grogu is being asked to make a choice that is light years above his developmental level. He should be thieving cookies and force-pushing his peers - if he had any - off the roof of the new Jedi school as a prank. He is just a little kid. Vader is dead, the Empire is basically dead. What is the freakin rush here?

What he needs is stability and people who love him, not Sophie's choice.

And cookies. He needs those too.

If Din lives another 50 years, Grogu will be about the equivalent of 10 years old at best when his adopted dad dies of old age. This is assuming a linear progression of maturity for his species ... if Yoda kicked the bucket at 900 looking like a relatively spry 90-year old, you give Grogu 10 at 100. Unless there's a great leap in cognitive development prior to that which would actually make a bit more sense.

Thing is, Grogu is most valuable as a property in baby form. The more he does and the more he's capable of, the less surprising and the less cute he is.
I dunno, Grogu doesn’t seem like the equivalent of a 5 year old so I don’t think it’s a direct translation like that.

Whilst he is very baby like he sometimes show’s that he is plenty aware of what’s going on and that he isn’t stupid. He just likes to eat wildlife and take naps.

Fair. Human 5-year olds are much more verbal but not as durable or clever as he is sometimes shown to be ... almost an animal (alien?) intelligence that keeps him alive in a tough galaxy. Still as confusing as ever then.

For all we know they could spend the first 50-100 years conserving energy then suddenly grow rapidly into near adulthood. Aliens be crazy sometimes.
