I like the sarlacc escape, flashbacks from Geonosis and Kamino, Boba gearing up at the palace, Boba's killing of the sand beast and when he used his wrist-rocket against the fleeing enemy.

Palace scene where each crime chief was to pay tribute to the new Daimyo was rather... Weird. Fett being a soft ruler was a bit out of character. But then again, it's a +12 show so not expecting him to be much more violent or using a harsher temper. '

Will try to not have any high hopes for coming episodes, otherwise we're setting up for disappointment.

Sarlacc struggle and escape was uninspired.
Pit should have been filled with half digested and rotten still living beings. Clutching at him, and begging him to kill them.
While acid eats at him and his armor, and tendrils try to attach themselves to him, and down his throat and through his ears to his brain, to keep him alive in stasis and slowly digest him. This struggle should have been terrifying.
With nothing working, grapnel fires up, but nothing to grab, darts absorbed, blades ineffectual, flame thrower useless. While it piece by piece, strips him of his weapons and armor, and spits them out (how the Jawas got them), till his last chance is a final last ditch suicide detonator and an explosive jet pack rise out of the abyss, as the relentless swarm of tendrils lash out and rise in pursuit, engulfed in flames, suddenly severed by the explosion, fall away dead around him, as he falls back to earth...

A group of Tusken nomads in awe having just witnessed the impossible.

At the end of the day every one of our criticisms is valid, given our familiarity with the property and the elements that make it special (albeit not highbrow LOL) entertainment.

You take that back!

Seriously though, academic high brow entertainment is generally boring as hell. Guess I'm just an unsophisticated dolt.

Much better than the muted pedestrian escape that we got.

There's not a big market for that. Best I can do is a barely damaged dead Stormtrooper and a flamethrower scene, shot on my wife's sister's son's friend's mum's camera. Take it or leave it.

Think the world is filled with miserable people that will never be happy… enjoy it for what it was Boba fett an iconic SW character continuing on… we could have gotten a Finn spin off..

That's not really true.

Rogue One, Solo and The Mandalorian made me happy.

The Book of Bob just isn't one of Disney's finest Star Wars moments yet.

The first and last thirds had some good things, but the middle third was very odd, and didn't do Boba's legacy any favours.

I'm still hopeful that things will improve but that was not a good start. I know I'm beating a dead horse but Morrison really feels like a poor choice to play the character of Boba Fett. Not much about him feels like the mysterious bounty hunter from the OT that became a legend.

Sad and uninspired reviews.

Where the true love? Where's the vile hate? The usuals aren't trying very hard.

It wasn't an outright attack like the ST but it also wasn't a very good start to a show about the mythical Boba Fett. Speaking of that god awful ST where the hell is jye and Khev?

Well that was VERY disappointing. Not only is the much experienced Boba Fett quite incompetent, don't worry cause the female sidekick is there to tell him what he needs to do. No old EU canon where Dengar helps Boba back to health? Oh, the arduous journey of having to survive the native Tuskens and the environment. Very Western and it will play out brilliantly. Nope, lets some kid drag him around instead of choking him out and escaping. That fact is even driven home when he actually chokes out some huge monster.

As actual crime lord, Boba has no idea what to do. He expects everyone to give tributes to him? Like all bad guys will just roll over? Then the fight with the shields just shows how worthless Morrison is in fight sequences. Just what I wanted to see, Boba Fett at his worst.

This is easily the worst script of all the SW shows Favreau has written up to this point.
