I saw some scenes from the first episode. It doesn't look that bad.

Its not that bad, people are mostly having fun.

Also, I mentioned this before, but nobody seems to have any answers......when he digs his way out and we see the Barge wreckage, there's a very clearly dead Sarlacc tentacle just laying there lifeless. Was the Sarlacc dead?? Probably a lot easier to push your way out of its guts if it's dead. But WHY is it dead?

LOL, I thought it was fair game for SW, they'v mined everything else, so why not the grand dady of the action hero genera.

All I could think while watching them was the guy in Casino Royale did it 1000x better.

Zorro was a master at free-running long before a bunch of hipsteurs on the interwebs pretended they invented it, by giving it a silly new name.


Speaking of which if R. Rodriguez is working for Disney, why the heck isn't he doing the Zorro reboot.

There's a Zorro reboot, but it stars Wilmer Valderrama, so it's probably trash. They couldn't even hire a Spaniard to play Zorro. That show is DOA.

Well contemporary take on Zorro is he's part Spanish - part Native American (mestizo).
As is Valderrama, given his family name and look.

That ^ should be Boba Fett went into the Sarlacc Boba Fitt, and came out Boba Fatt!

Although even Solo gained a few pounds wile frozen in Carbonite, so I give it a pass.

You know, it's pretty weird that Boba, the original "breakout badass" of the OT, now is less cool than an OC who begun as a Boba clone. For me it's the Jedi & Sith that are the core of Star Wars, so my collection is built around them. Everything else is window dressing to prop them up. Whatever other figure I buy apart from Jedi & Sith, will be to recreate a certain scene or something in a display. So maybe a Rex down the line, if they ever release a General Kenobi and I can pair him with a General Skywalker. Maybe some Imperial Guards for Palpatine, stuff like that. I don't even have any plans to get a Han or Leia. And even back when I was a kid, Boba wasn't really that cool to me. His suit looked like a janitor's, and his random pieces of armour were pretty goofy. Honestly, it was the helmet that was really neat. But compared to literal Sorcerer Knights, how could I find him "cool"? As time went on and I got into the more "down to Earth" anti-heroes I warmed up to him, but still, someone like Starkiller was the deifnition of cool for me.

So, with all that said, at this point it's more likely for me to get a Din figure as Mandalorian representation than a Boba one. Djarin went from a literal Donut Steel to an actual character, and more importantly, he has a much cooler look. With the way the series is going, he'll probably be crowned King Of Mandalore, and I can't wait to see what he'll look like. That would be a worthy addition to my collection, and as I stated, I started off not planning to get anything beyond the Jedi & Sith. Meanwhile Boba gets more and more lame with each appearance. Forget the wooden acting and stiffled moves. I don't even mind that he's not ruthless; I didn't expect him to kill a kid, especially when the whole tribe would be unleashed on him. But he's just a weak moron. He needs translators, he walks around like a goober, he has no great strategic skills. I'm sorry, but Boba isn't the Godfather. Boba is Fredo.

Even if it does improve, I think I'm done with the character. The black robes are cool, but if I get one Mandalorian, it'll be King Of Mandalore Din

I don't see Mando wanting or taking the throne or crown.
Although he inspires, guy doesn't seem to seek power. Tried to freely give away the saber. And his arc has been realizing these archaic symbols and ways don't (and shouldn't) define him or any Mando.
So neither should his helmet, the spear, or saber.
But his actual actions should. Likley after helping Bo free Mandalor, and a futile attempt to unite them. He forgoes the saber and any symbol it carries. Leaving the schisms between Mandos to their own devices, and fate.

Cue Mando theme, ....walks off into sunset.

Well that's just it, I'm not really up to date on the cartoons, but apparently Bo was a tyrant, Others just as well followed Maul as a leader. I think one of their own (Sabine?) a character they are bringing in betrayed and even built a lethal weapon that is drawn specifically to anyone wearing beskar. (I guess that was the purge?) His own clan seems fanatical and cult like.
The whole thing their archaic mythology and ways seem a trap, if they can't let go it will wreck them.
He may lead them to freedom, inspire (quest fulfilled), but doesn't seem the type to "rule" them.

Bo-Katan was just a **** ruler who staged a coup then got ****** over by Maul. Sabine created a weapon ebcause she was a weapons genius, and the Empire used it to **** up the Mandalorians. It's been a while since I watched them myself. Still, I expect someone to win the Mandobowl and become King. Dunno, I'm fine with them being a hardcore warrior culture, I'm not invested in them "changing". Satine tried that and it turned them into weaklings with no real purpose in the universe, story-wise.

I didn't like how in the bacta tank, Boba had an air hose in his mouth but his nose was wide open. That freaks me out. What's stopping him from getting all nice and cozy and taking a giant gulp of water into his lungs from his nose?

Other than that it looked very relaxing. Wish I had one in my room.

I did wonder that. Maybe there's a scientific reason why it couldn't happen...

OK, maybe I was a bit harsh but as written in this episode Morrison was a bad fit for the character. If the writing and direction were better he probably would have been more believable but alas that wasn't the case. Hopefully things improve going forward. My only other comment on Morrison's ability to carry a show is that IF he was considered to be that good he probably would have landed a lead role before now.

IMO they should have picked up his crime lord reign after he'd gotten a few more underlings in his crew so he at least had an entourage of thugs to travel with rather than walking around town with his helmet off looking like anything but a leader. Perhaps they should have started with his sit-down with the lieutenants of Jabba's network rather than saving it for a subsequent episode?

At this point I feel like I rather would of had Fett stay as a supporting character in Mando with Morrison. Then Book of Boba Fett could simply not exist or be showing Fett from post-AOTC up to Mando Season 2. Could cast a few different actors to show child boba, teen boba, adult boba, then finally Morrison’s Old Man Boba at the end.

But yeah I agree. It didn’t feel like a good fit, didn’t feel like the Boba Fett I envisioned. Perhaps that will change in future episodes. I think they were put in a odd spot with Boba Fett. A pure bounty hunter show would have been great, but then they already had that somewhat with Mando, so they pivot and make this crime lord angle (which to me was somewhat lazy because they did that already with Maul). And that’s why I feel like the show just should have been about his past. Feels like there would have been more money in that area too. PT/OT era episodes would have pleased fans on each side. Could have brought back some memorable characters. Then again that runs the risk of ruining the past.


It is an interesting debate though because it reminds me of a lot of the PT and ST criticisms. Many fans had decades to envision every aspect of a character and when they got it (Anakin, Yoda, Luke, Han) they weren’t happy with how that character was portrayed. It seems like Boba Fett, while initially liked in Mando, is gonna go the way of Lil Ani, CGI Yoda, Jake Skywalker, and Loser Han… Bob Fett/Boba Fatt

I think Robert Rodriguez had the weakest episode so far in Mandalorian and in my opinion this is why this is not really good as well. There was enough good in the show to give me hope that other directors will do better.

Boba Fett looks like a boiled egg in those flashbacks.
